T-Mac gives it like it is, so does JVG, that is a HUGE reason while I am happy with our team.

I think McGrady is just the type of person who is honest and truthful, and this goes back to the time when he admitted that some nights he slacked off last season, because the losses were getting to him. He surely knew that would give his enemies/haters a strong weapon to continueously slam him with, and yet he said it anyways. I thought that was not the smartest thing to do, but it made me understand that he is a real stand-up guy, and wanted to take responsibility for his past mistakes.

Weisbrod, on the other hand, has done nothing but pass the buck to his subordinates. But that is pretty much standard procedure in being successful at keeping your job (i.e. "it is his fault!")

I have not be hyper critical of the Rockets
since JVG let go of the top on the basket

So it must be someone else

I took the other thread about the Magic for the Chronicle article and merged also. I just renamed the thread to be about the Magic's struggles.

Remove the log of wood in your eyes first before attempting to remove the speck in another's.

You are the one who is suffering from acute hateritis - i advice you take care of yourself (clean out your closet) first before venturing into another man's "yard". And before I go, how is the Johnny Davis coach of the year award doing? Still any hope? Your predicted he will win it this year....remember?

well the magic lost again tonight to the bobcats blowing a 16 point lead and are temporarily out of the playoff picture. what was more interesting is what yahoo/ap sports had in its notes::

Orlando general manager John Weisbrod was stopped by Charlotte Coliseum security for the second time this season. In a November visit here, Weisbrod was questioned because security found him nervously pacing around the parking lot after the Magic fell behind.

    Weisbrod's bad moves this year:

    1. Picked Howard over Oakafur. I don't care what his stats are, This team needs a mature PF and Oakafur is solid.

    2. Traded Cuttino for Doug Christie.
Not only did Steve lose his buddy, they replaced him with a woman.

Not to worry, Whitebread. You're only what, 36, 37? Plenty of time for a second career. And maybe this time you'll find something you're actually good at.

P.S. Thanks for McGrady! The gift that keeps on giving.

My bet is that he will resign (under threat of being fired, of course) stating that he is leaving for better opportunities and that basketball is not "his kind of game". Anyone want to take that bet? MFClark? pgabriel? [crickets chirping] anybody? [/crickets chirping]

This guy is SUCH an idiot!

How was he offered a job, and actually hired, to be an NBA GM??

We should send Weisbrod a huge, oversized thank-you note. We could alert a couple of media outlets, have a enromous card singed by a zillion rocket fans delivered to the Magic's front office. "Dear G.M. Weisbrod: We are very grateful to you for trading Tracy McGrady to us. With no disrespect intended toward Steve Francis, we are sorry that he has fallen short of your expectations. As the Magic have fallen into disarray and the rockets have begun to thrive, our franchise owes you a tremendous debt of gratitude. Best of luck!"

I am also curious to hear what people think the "jump the shark" moment for the magic was. Mcgrady is obvious, but what about the cuttino trade? what about kenny smiths three pointer in game one of the 95 finals? when did the orlando magic offically jump the shark?

The phrase "jump the shark" has jumped the shark.

I think that when you name your home arena "The O-Rena," you deserve all the scorn the angry Gods have to offer.

    What are you talking about?
Word is that Arena name is a favorite of Steve-O.
