The only way to stop LMA is to make him guard for 48 minutes

+1. Rockets haven't tried DMO yet. Let him try first before trying some small ball. Portland's at home so they'll be fresher in 4th quarter. Rockets need to play out of their mind to win next game. That's apart from the need to win at least 2 games to have at least a chance for a 6th and 7th game... Everybody needs to "D" up if Rockets is to win any game. DEFENSE is the name of the game in the playoffs. That's what defines a championship team since the beginning of time. No DEFENSE, No chance, No win.

I always say, "To kick some, you gotta bring some". This means we have to guard them too. The theory is lovely, he will use more energy on defense. But he will use half the energy on offense. Backing down and shooting over Chandler doesn't take the same amount of energy as backing down and shooting over Omer. You can give him different looks, double from different angles, soft double to make him pick up his dribble before he's ready.

The only two big guys I've seen shoot that baseline turnaround like this were Hakeem and Dirk. Double teams didn't slow them down because the mechanics of the shot are the same. But making him pick up his dribble before he's ready nay throw his rhythm off a bit.

That's we're we benefit from Chandler guarding him. When he sees Chandler he is logically gonna think that he needs to back him down and score in the post that requires dribbling. as soon as he puts that ball on the floor you attack his dribble with a guard. Golden State did this for years under Nelson and ran bigger teams out the gym. What's cool about our squad is Chandler is 6'9 with hops and could at least contest the LMA shot somewhat. but on offense no way can LMA stay with Parsons who can shoot the 3 and drive like a guard. at the very least it can free up space for Lin and Harden to attack.

Donuts won't play if it's not a blowout. McFail just afraid to play him.

Best trategy is to play regular season without TT lineup, and then play them in playoffs..no matter TT lineup lost all games in start of the season tho.

It is clear that D-Mo/Howard combo will force LMA to play defense. We can just go to the player LMA is guarding. Can't hurt to try & hopefully D-Mo is up to the task.
