Seriously guys, I could not expect more from this team...Dallas is just playing phenomenal. I was hard because on this team in the regular season because they played soft. That's not true, every game, they've put it all out there. Every player, from top to bottom. They are playing with heart. I mean c'mon, we don't have a freaking power forward!!!! We don't have a freakin Small forward. All we got is Yao or Mutumbo in the middle and a GUARD playing power foward!!!! How can you not love this team man! I would not be surprised if the winner of this series goes to the finals. Phoenix and SA are in big trouble.
I would normally be defeated after a loss but what I saw late in the 4th was just phenomenal. We didn't pull out the win but t-mac and yao gave us a glimpse of something we'll be cheering on much more in the future. I like the fact t-mac was hitting Yao earlier on the roll. Yao can actually put the ball on the floor and is pretty crafty in getting close to the basket. It was either a dunk or a foul. Yao was really asserting himself late too. You could see he did not want to lose this game and didn't care what they called anymore. He rarely went for a layup or hook shot in the 4th. It looked like he was going to dunk it or DUNK IT!. Great game guys, tough loss, but I'm still proud of our team. We came out a little tentative but I think we found our groove late and believe we will continue to build upon what we did in the 4th quarter in Game 6. I haven't lost hope yet but win or lose on Thursday, I tip my hat off to our players and our organization and everyone on this board that has made it a fun ride . rockets in 7 beeeyoooootch!!
Good sign. Yao was angry and explosive in 4th qtr although he missed 5 fts in roll because he fight for the ¡®hackYao¡¯ which affected his muscle strength and changed his normal free throw. Yao will know he is fighting for 1. himself 2. his coach JVG 3. his team 4. our fans That¡¯s may be turning point of his NBA life and Rockets team. I do hope he realizes he is unstoppable player in this league after this game. I am 100% sure that we will win next 2 games. An easy 4-0 is not good for Houston in the 2nd round and finals. 4 of 7 in 1st round will make them go far in playffs. Go! Rockets! P.S. refs should realize what they have done in the series games. And David Stern should not count on ratings by this way.
It's only one game. Both Tmac and Yao have hit the clutch shots and FTs when the games were on the line times before. I still believe in our stars.
You knew yao hit the turning point in the game when he not just slammed it, he pulled himself up on the rim. Did anyone see that? That was nice and kind of weird seeing someone so big do that.
My take exactly!! Despite the loss, I came away from this game recognizing that this team found out a lot about themselves last night, especially coming down the stretch - very good things. Without Howard, we may not have enough weapons to overcome the Mavs/officiating. But we're like the dog that's got the cuff of your pants........we never let go, we never give in. That's heart, character, and coaching. We're just beginning to see a glimmer of what TMac and Yao can do together. Somehow Yao will figure out how to stay out of foul trouble, and then look out. Props to JVG for calling out the NBA officiating; in the long run it will pay dividends. My wife, a diehard Mavs fan, really knows basketball and said last night that the Rockets are about 1 and 1/2 players away from dominating the league (maybe Spud Webb is that 1/2!). I see us upgrading the talent and athleticism big time over the summer. I have absolutely loved this year, watching C. Dawson remake this team on the fly, and learning just how good a coach we have in JVG. No matter the outcome of this series we're in for a fun ride for years to come. No wonder Jason Kidd or anybody else wants to jump on board. D R
I can't believe all you guys are allready looking to next year The series isn't over!!! ANYTHING can happen in a game 7 situation especially with T-Mac envolved. The "we always have next year" attitude is pathetic, you never know what can happen in the future. Hell the NBA still needs to sign the Collective Bargaining Agreement and if not there will be another lockout. We might not have the same supporting cast and if we do they will be a year older. The series isn't over, don't give up already.
I like the attitude in this thread, and it is sooooo true. Let me say a few things about this season so far (it is not over yet)... I have not enjoyed watching basketball since the last time the Rockets went to the WCF and lost to the Jazz. This season has been nothing but absolute fun and enjoyment for me, I have neber had so much hope and looked forward to the future more than I have now. Call me crazy, but in fact I am looking towards the off-season to be may be even more filled with excitement than this season. There are going to be improvements to this team, make no mistake about it. And if we didn't make the playoffs and played against a team like Dallas, we wouldn't have found out about our weaknesses and shortcomings. Now, however, the team management knows EXACTLY what's needed and what to do. IMO, you cannot be in the Western Conf and not have an excellent defensive 4, because the WC is stacked with star PFs, and that is the BIGGEST area to be addressed. It is funny/ironic that one poster here mentioned Eggie, because Eggie would have definitely put us over the top in this series in guarding Nowitzki (not scoring), and keeping McGrady fresh on the offensive end to take over at the end. But the past is the past, and I am glad still we got rid of that thug. Anyways, we still have a game (possibly 2) to play in this season, if we win them, we have more to play. So season not over by any means, but the odds are against us now.

Everyone was too busy licking their wounds to consider the positive.
