oh F****** yea i know that guy. hes one of my "friends". he cant be happy for anyone. you get something new and hes tried it, had it, read of about it and it sucks. you get a bonus at work and he tells you how he makes that much just as part of his income. its fc***** annoying. i literally interact with him one a week now at most. hes brothers with my old hs friend.
sorry to double post but i forgot to add that this guy has literally been caught lying all the time and as he tells his stories you can tell hes making it up at the time. its so obvious and then he tells the same story but completely different versions because i guess he forgets taht he has told that lie. and sometimes he takes other people stories and inserts himself in there not knowing that you already know the other persons story. and no way would he EVER admit hes lying or that hes wrong. the best way to deal with it is to stop associating with him and to make him look like an ass at all times. also, would this be pathological lying? why would you lie when you gain absolutely nothing for it? Bascially i think this person has very little self worth and finds new ways of proving to himself his self worth. stories and material things.
I hate those one uppers.. You know another guy I hate? The one who invites himself to everything you do. I used to have a friend who would call me everyday and asked me "what i'm doing?" I am not sure what they are called.. tag-a-longs? LOL
ahaha I got a friend like that too. i remember one time he told a story of mine to someone else and added a whole bunch of crap that didn't happen. I'm like "WTF? I'm pretty sure I never said all that."
In addition this person is also a frequent 'pop in guy' -- the random knock on the door that makes you cringe because there is no way to escape.
I have lived with 5 guys like that in college as roommates(thankfully not at the same time). They had a 1up for everything. If I said I had a killtacular in Halo, one might talk about how they went off for a killtastrophe..... with one grenade, no shields, and 3 shots left in the shotgun....... from across the map with everyone sniping at him If I'm checking a girl, they talk about how they banged several other dimes, and only left her alone because one of them was her friend/roommate. If I find a $5 bill, they talk about how they found an envelope loaded with $100 bills..... in church during offering time If I play a game of NBA2k and comeback from 15 down, they talk about how they came back from down 30...... with 2min left If I tell them I got me a lil summer internship paying $12/hr, they claim that their job gets them $20/hr..... with health benefits, no taxes, commission, and a laptop and vehicle to use for work purposes, then proceed to claim to use the vehicle to do as they please and that the company pays for gas. If I'm in the club, buy me a bottle of Hypnotiq, and have a girl grinding up on me all night just because I poured some in her cup, they talk about how they once bought out the bar and owned the VIP section and had girls stripping and giving lap dances(and other favors) for free. And 99% of the time they're lying. Even if something is true, they will have a line in their story to blow it out of proportion.
