FYI for my south-side brothers... The Friendswood Wal-Mart (45 @ El Dorado) has started a "list", and all of the premiums are spoken for but there are about 15 spots for the basic left. Just because some one is on the list though doesn't mean they will show up. The Pearland Wal-Mart (the one near Friendswood) will hand out tickets for the systems on a first come, first serve basis at 10:00PM tonight. I'll be heading up to the Pearland Wal-Mart at about 6:30 and see what the line is like, I am 33rd on the list at El Dorado and can use that if I have to. Worst case scenario is I'll be a Sam's at 7:00AM.
Okay. My Gamestop has now told me that they are not getting the weekly batches now. They are getting two full preorder "batches." I'm not sure if this is true for all their stores. Basically all the "Wave 1" preorders get their 360's tomorrow. All of "Wave 2" gets theirs next week. I'm in Wave 2. Apparently after that it's first in - first out...
I've heard that there're long line already(40 people) at Best Buy in Houston for the midnight launch. What sucks is when you're one of the first in line but you need to go to the bathroom real bad and that you had to get behind the line once you get back.
Ritzcamera told us we were in the first shipping batch, but they haven't gotten them from Microsoft yet?
well at my eb, theres a possibly shipment coming in tuesday or wednesday afternoon. the manager called me up to tell me that since the last 360 batch he got in today was shipped on the 18th. the possible new batch coming in, he told me, shipped out on the 19th. i'm very hopeful b/c i'm the number 1 on the list after the first pre-orders are done at launch
man that is crazy. i called the walmart on 45 north and the lady said they have 6 people standing in line right now. my mom's boyfriend works at sam's and will get off an hour before the store opens so he's just going to wait at the counter and be the first in line to get one for me. he told me each sam's is supposed to only get 10 each.
I was at the walmart in pasadena today (shaver) and there was a sign that said to wait in line here for the xbox and that they had 46 units. There were already 8 people in the line and this was around noon today.
I drove by the Best Buy at Richmond & 610 at lunch and there were about 200 people in line (no kidding). The line covered half of the front side of the store (left side) and ran down the left side of the store towards the rear along the fence in between the store and the apartments right there.
So, where is a good place to try tomorrow morning? Circuit City, Target? Anybody think the lines will be as bad in the morning?
definitely sam's if you're a member. other than that i have no idea, i thought i could go to walmart tonight around 6 and be first in line but obviously that's not happening.
I have decided against getting one for now but I will venture to my local Wal-Marts to see what the lines are looking like.
COMP USA is a place that no one might think about going to for a 360. There was an ad in the Sunday paper. Check out how many 360's our local Best Buys will be getting http://xbox.clambert.org/77489
This is a good point. I remember the day the PS2 launched, I walked right up to CompUSA that morning an hour before it opened and was the second in line while Circuit City (right next door) had a 40+ line. That is a good place to try definitely.
****ing EB screwed me!!! I had preordered in September. The stupid chick told me I was the 27th person on the list. That they were going to get 25 and if two cancelled I would get it. Today I go there and they say that the I am the 60th person on the ****ing list. The managers excuse was that the "employee lied". WTF?!?!?! I called up the district manager and he tried to feed me some bs about a misunderstanding and other crap. I basically told him to **** off.
Hehe... So I was at that Xbox 360 launch event thing I mentioned earlier. I signed up for their little raffle thing, and a while later, I heard my name announced. Sounded cool. Then I heard that I had a chance to win a Xbox 360. Even better. Then I heard I had to play another person who they also picked at NFS:MW on the 360 and beat them to win the system. Uh-oh. Yeah, I didn't play so well. Stupid crappy EA games. If only they made better games, I would have played more of NFS and some of their other games. Oh well. I guess I can use this to cheer me up: http://peanutbutterbriantime.ytmnd.com/ I guess if anyone wants impressions, I'll try to give what I can. All I basically saw was some Madden and NFS:MW. I left a little early (since I was kind of pissed), so they may have shown some of the other EA titles later on.
