What sucks about the Backwards Compatibility? It is a craploado of games at launch that will work, and they will add to the list after launch.
FWIW, it sounds like Wal-Mart still hasn't cancelled the orders from before, although it sounds like they changed the shipping date by a couple of days (ships between 11/24 and 12/01). Makes you wonder why they just didn't cancel it if it was a glitch. Plus, it sounds like some people have a hold on their CC, and Gamespot also mentioned something about this: http://www.gamespot.com/news/6140068.html
Probably. In fact, they could probably ship 2-3 times as many, but there might still be a "shortage." I just want get a reservation/preorder down ASAP. edit: Although then again, it might not occur during the holiday season, so it may not seem as crazy.
rocks_fan Just out of curiosity, does it still appear as though your order was cancelled? Apparently, some people got the same cancellation notices, yet now their card has been charged and they've received shipping confirmation. A little bizarre, but maybe there is still some hope, even if you received one of those emails. Also, for any of my fellow UT students, a rep from EA posted on the Texas Gaming Association forum about a Xbox 360 launch event on Monday at 7pm in the LanCave (in Jester West). They’re supposed to have some free shirts, free games, and other free "swag", as well as a chance to try out the Xbox 360 itself. So if you guys don't have anything going on, this might be a cool thing to check out.
I'm...not sure. I haven't gotten an email confirming shipping yet, but the order is still "processing" according to Walmart.com. I'm getting aggravated about the whole thing. Guess I'll give them a call.. OK, according to the 12 year old customer service rep (no kidding, she sounded about that old) the order is still up, and it should arrive on or before December 1st. And now I'm back to being torn between waiting for my order and trying to get it opening day. Guess I'll still try for opening day. BTW, a little research by your truly has uncovered that neither Best Buy or Target (at least, the ones I've visited). They will open at their regular hours (9 for BB, 8 for Target) and it's first come, first served.
I guess if they do end up charging your card (assuming they haven't already) and ship it after Tuesday, and you were lucky enough to already find a 360, maybe you could return it to one of their stores. I'm not sure what their return policy would be in this case. It might help you out that you have the cancellation email though. I mean, why would you expect them to charge and send you a system if they told you it was cancelled?
Yeah hehe, funny about that email. I got pissed and deleted it. Hopefully Walmart will ship it on the 21st or something so I don't have to worry about it.
Uh...Not the entire library...I only have a handfull of games that will be BC at launch...They have freakin' a Barbie game on there...What about ESPN 2K5 series, Fightclub, unreal championship, etc...That's what sucks...carry on...
Speaking of BC, I think MS just recently put up the BC patch for day 1. There are some impressions of it over at GAF: http://www.ga-forum.com/showthread.php?t=72168
Well, the manifest for my 360 has been recieved by the shipping company. It should be in the mail tomorrow and hopefully will arrive...sometime this week. It's a shame that I won't have it on launch day (most likely) but at least I don't have to worry about trying to find it on launch day anymore. Picked up Call of Duty 2 and Need for Speed: Most Wanted uesterday at Best Buy so at least I'll have something for it when it arrives.
well i got shafted at eb. i was on the first shipment on the pre-order and the manager called me today to tell me that i'm been changed to number 1 on the second shipment. thanks a lot m$
Still not bad. Hopefully you'll get yours within the week. How many did they say they were getting at launch? Seems odd they waited until now to let you know you were pushed back. Doesn't seem shipment totals would be changed a day before they will get to the stores. I went in and payed mine off Saturday and checked again (3rd time in a week) to make sure I was getting one launch day/morning. They again told me that they will be getting 10 and I am 9th on the list. Was originally planning to have my wife, who is off from work all week, to pick it up Tuesday; but I get a bad feeling about it each time I talk to their employees and have decided to make the trek up there at midnight tomorrow to get it. I just get the feeling, if I don't get it at midnight; they'll sell mine to the next person on the list the next day. Anyway, I already have my Madden and NBA2k waiting on the system. I'll try to give impressions as soon as I can. Unfortunately, I up to it at work until Wed., so I won't be able to log in much time at first. Looking for a 3rd, non-sports game, anyone have any suggestions as the best to get?
Based on the reviews out right now, Call of Duty 2 and PGR 3 are the best titles so far. PDZ and King Kong have gotten a few good scores as well, but they still haven't been reviewed by a lot of sites (IGN, GS, 1up, etc.).
GameSpot gave Madden a 7.4, and it looks to me like it was because they stripped down the franchise mode quite a bit.
