They don't keep it. You get it back if you want off the list, in the form you put it on. If it was cash, you get cash back. If you traded in, you get the trade in credit back. When you remove the preorder, you just lose the spot you had in line.
Check it on my listing @ ebay.com item#8238344636 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...AMESE:IT&rd=1 I'm in Houston, so you wont have to worry about shipping costs.
Bringing this back to give an update on how the Japan launch went: http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=10000087&sid=aY7CnxoGtsMI&refer=top_world_news For comparison, the original Xbox sold about 123K in the first 3 days. And according to those numbers, I guess about 150K were shipped to Japan (compared to the 300-400K available for the US launch, I think). There's also the following bit of information: http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/xbox-3...shops-now-slashing-xbox-360-prices-142368.php Not so sure if this worldwide launch was a good idea. Here in the US (and parts of Europe as well IIRC), you have people desperately trying to find the system; meanwhile, in Japan, this is what you can find pretty easily (or so it seems): edit: Scratch that second story off as meaningful. Apparently, that's how things are done in Japan, even for the PSP and DS. In fact, someone mentioned that they were doing that the day of the 360 launch as well. Sorry about that.
All I could say is, we could use some of those extra 360 here in the state and the world wide launch is not looking to good for MS right now.
For the big WTF news....My girlfriend's parents got her brother a 360 for 100 bucks! It's just the core package, but that's an amazing deal. Her step-dad works at Sears and had a discount plus coupons...
If anyone is interested. Best Buy in Sugar Land will be recieving 360's this sunday, the 18th. It will be in their Ad on Saturday so I am sure everyone will know about it by Sunday Morning.
Best buy's around the nation will get it..i think the best buy in sugar land will only have like 30 units..Just do a search online..it will give you a link that tells you which BB store will have exactly how many units..if you are in the austin area..there will be 42 units at the bb off of research blvd.
Some guys I work with who have been trying to score one just missed teh shipment at Sam's today. Many retailers got their second shipment in today but are already sold out. They called just about every store on the west side looking for one after they found out Sam's had some. As far as the 360 not getting a big reception in Japan it isn't a big deal, Japan are some wacky ass gamers anyway.
they are waiting for PS3..or Nintendo...its not that big of a wait..PS3 is still trying to shoot for a 3rd Quarter 2006 launch..Blu-Ray yummmm..too bad i cant get any of these tasty game systems because i'll be in med school next fall
Peter Moore disagrees with you: http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3146236 There's also this interesting quote from the VP at Namco: IOW, it will be hard to gain the support of those Japanese publishers (Square-Enix, Konami, Namco-Bandai, Capcom, etc.) if MS continues to do poorly in Japan; heck, if sales don't get any better, it wouldn't surprise me if something like Resident Evil 5 became a PS3 exclusive or something like that. And for a publisher like Namco, it doesn't help that their launch title (RR6) sold VERY poorly in the US, probably making them think twice about continuing support. BTW, if anyone is curious about how the 360 sold in November as well as some of the games, I might be able to post some sales numbers. Last I heard, the launch is still on target for a Spring launch, so that would be Q2 I believe, not Q3. Unless you mean a possible NA release, although Sony hasn't said anything about that.
http://www.gamespot.com/news/6141240.html Sex for an Xbox 360? Craigslist ad purported to be from two female gamers who would do anything to get the next-gen console. How far would you go to get an Xbox 360? Well, if one Craigslist.org ad were to be believed, two Boston-area women would do just about anything to get their hands on the next-gen console. Under the headline "trade sex for an xbox 360," a person claiming to be a 22-year-old woman said "Me and my roommate are totally hard core gamers, but our desperate (sic) attempts to get an Xbox 360 have gotten us nothing so far." The poster told responders to "send me a photo of you holding the system, and tell me what I have to do to get it." She did not mention any particular lewd acts but said her roommate was also willing to join in, despite being "really shy." But while the poster was apparently willing to debase herself to get an Xbox 360, she still had standards. "I'm looking for the PREMIUM system, not the ****ty watered down one," she said. Was the ad for real? We'll never know. Inquiries sent to the e-mail address went unanswered, and the posting has since been removed by the ever-vigilant Craigslist Community. Note to self, fly to Boston with Premium Xbox 360 system... Not sure if I should get it now or wait for the HD-DVD one...Problem is, there is still a lot unknown...I may say screw it and get the PS3...This was the same problem the Dreamcast had...rushing to complete something for the holidays...
Best Buy is not getting "new" shipments on the 18th. What they did was hold over up to a third of their original shipment. They realized early on that they would not get enough 360's so they held some back. This way they sell themselves as the only area retailer to have any right before Xmas, get the media to cover the lines outside their stores again, and cash in on the games, accessories, and other crap that people will buy when the 10-20 360's in each store get snapped up within minutes. F Best Buy.
Two Co-Workers of mine got 2 "Sam's Bundles" today at the Sam's at Fry Road and I-10... and my brother got one today at the Sam's in Stafford.
I work about 5 minutes away from that Sam's and am in need of a 360. But you got me at the word "bundle". Those things seem to usually start at around $600.
