i thought that over but i decided to put mine on ebay today. i'm not so sure more of these things won't be available by christmas so i want to get something for it while it's in high demand. but yeah, if it turns out a second shipment doesn't come till february than i definitely can see the price going up even more.
Yep, Sell it and you can buy it again later AND get an HDTV so you can really see why it is so cool. DD
All of you advocating buying and reselling the XBOX, I hope you've never b****ed about ticket scalpers.
I never thought that they'd be going that high or I would have stood in line myself and bought one just to turn around and resell it for 10 times its value. Damn!!!
Ok for everyone that got one.. HOW DO YOU LIKE IT?? I'm kinda sad that I did'nt order one, but I'd still love to hear what everyone likes and dislikes about it.. Any little things you find cool about it?
I got mine this morning on the way to work... and am still at the office, it looks pretty... does that count? ;-)
Just FYI on some of those prices... many of the people bidding have little or no feedback, so I wouldn't put much merrit into the high bids. If you put one for sale and get someone to actually pay over 1k for it, you're fairly lucky. The eBay forums are flooded with people being scammed over these.
In "fairness", if you can't get tickets to an event, it's not like you can wait until December to go the same event (necessarily) - the event date will have passed. With the Xbox, if you're stupid enough to pay that money instead of just waiting to get it with the next shipment, then oh well, more power to the "scalpers".
I went by Gamestop today to see about putting money down on a PS3..the girl behind the counter said they might start taking orders after the start of the new year. She also mentioned the launch of the PS3 got pushed back to fall 06 which I doubt, but whatever, just passing along what I heard.
i just got an hdtv which is kind of why i would like to keep the system just to see what it looks like but selling it now will pretty much give me a free one in a couple months so i can wait.
It absolutely amazes me how some people still don't understand how this all works. It's one thing to just try your luck and decide to give it a shot - that's fine - it's another entirely to actually be angry with the rest of the world because you decided on Nov. 21 that you're going to try and get a 360 and are having a rough time of it. NO, you are not going to have an easy time of finding a system the night before (or the day) it launches. YES, when you were asked to preorder back in June, it would have been a good idea to do it. NO, you are not the only guy who just wants 'to try and get it for my kid for Christmas' and are entitled to special treatment. Difficulties producing, created shortages to enhance hype, skyrocketing online prices...these have all been the norm here recently. It should be habit to deal with it by now. (Sorry, this is just the kind of stuff I've been hearing around game stores the last couple of days)
damn check out my friend's expierence, he got his in Round Rock (north Austin) thats has to be one of the far less COMPLIMENTS i have heard for a Best Buy. So far, he says it was worth it.
Anyone care to post how they like the 360 so far? I got to play a little bit of KingKong at Wal-Mart a week ago and it was pretty sweet. I think I'm gonna wait til PS3 though.
LOL. Anyhow, from what I've seen of the system, it is screaming for HDTV. Everything looks extremely impressive. For all the talk of changing generations, I've seen Madden, NBA Live, NBA 2K6, Perfect Dark, NFS:Most Wanted and King Kong personally; you can definitely tell a big difference. In the last EB I was in, they had the PS2 and the 360 next to each other, and that's when it really slaps you in the face that you're looking at a new generation.
It's. A. Game system for crying out loud! It's not life. It's not oxygen. Good grief! (especially aimed at the idiots willing to pay more than retail on these... just wait until the market is flooded with them.)
If you don't have an HDTV, it is not worth the trouble..... By the way I find it funny that people are going crazy over all this high resolution stuff...... Because the PC games have been Hi-res for years, all they are doing is porting them over to the X-box 360....and people think it is amazing.... PC games have been at this level for at least the last 6-8 years..... Still, I got mine yesterday, and it is quite impressive seeing it on our HDTVs at work..... But, it is just a bigger version of a PC game. DD
