A bit of an update... I went to a different Target (this one is a Super Target) and they said they'll have 69 Wii's when they open at 8am (this is consistent with wiiseeker). First come first served and no line as of yet. I think I might head out there at about 11pm just to be safe and then check back every couple of hours until I see a line anything close to 30+ people. I also checked at the Toys 'R Us next door to Target and they will have 60 Wii's (not including pre-orders) when they open at 11am (wiiseeker said 89 total, so I guess 29 are pre-orders). No line as of yet. If I somehow get to the Target line too late, I'll head on over to Toys 'R Us. Stopped into Comp USA and they were asses. This one kid went to ask his manager how many they'd have and this is what he came back and told me... "He said we have no idea how many we're getting...trying to keep it on the down low. He said we'd definitely have them for launch day though." What a bunch of idiots. First of all, "launch day" is about 5 hours from now. Secondly, you can't keep something on the "down low" if you don't know it in the first place. Those manipulative bastards...
Does anyone know what file system (fat/fat32/ntfs) the SD cards have to be for the Wii? Or is it possible the Wii can read all 3?
Hmm. So, my sisters tell me they are going to get me a Wii as their Christmas gift. But that's if I can get it myself - they'll pay the cost. Which is great, of course...but doesn't leave me much time tonight. Trying to decide whether I really want to try and bother with WalMart tonight. Hmm...
Kind of what I'm thinking. I may drive around anyway. I have friends camping out at a Target (they've been there since this morning) and was going to visit them anyway.
I just got home from Sugar Land Wal-Mart on Hwy 6 and 90. No sign of any lines anywhere. One dude was playing the PS3 demo and that was about it. I didn't bother to ask anyone about how many units they might have since I'm not in the market.
I just called out there...at least to 1 on hwy 6 and they said they are already sold out. probably released thema little early
The Walmart at Kuyukendahl and 2920 handed out tickets to their folks in line (made them stay). They had 20 units, so they handed out 20 tickets. I didn't bother staying. I called several Targets and they had between 33-60 depending on which one. The Target at 249 had 7 people camping out. The I45 Target at Cypresswood had nobody camping out. The Woodlands Target had 60 units no clue on line or camping. Pretty much all the Walmart have around 20 or so units, but it looks like most of those are going to be gone at midnight. Sears are getting some, but you have to buy a bundle of one extra controller and one game, so not a biggie since most people are getting that anyway. No clue on Costco or Sam's but I would expect some bundles available in the morning there. People with Sam's business accounts might try at 7. Looks like Best Buys and Toys R Us...followed by Targets are getting the biggest shipments with sevearl store getting into the hundreds of units. TRUS has to fill some pre orders I think, but should have plenty...but I hear that since these stores are getting the most, they have the most campers. I have no clue why Walmarts are bringing up the rear in how many units each store is getting. The manager at the 2920 store said they got less than expected, but is thinking that Walmart might be distributing less units more often to their stores, rather than fewer releases of more units. I have no clue on Circuit City, and how many they are getting...they might fly under the radar and be a good pickup place in the morning. I've read several deal sights with folks giving up their preordered bundles to just try to pick them up without having to buy 5 games. Random internet sights will be releasing here and there tomorrow, so if you are quick, you might not even need to leave your house to order one. Of course, there is another shipment of Wiis coming next week to almost every store...so while they will be hard to come by, only people waiting until the last minute in December will be hard pressed to come up with one for Christmast, I think.
The line was at least in the neighborhood of 150 about half an hour ago when I drove in trying to get my hands on one. I guess I'll scope out places that will open early tomorrow morning... You owe me a Wii
Wii bundles are up right now at kbtoys.com and etoys.com. Several to choose from. I got the one with Excite Truck, Monkey Ball, and Zelda. Oh yeah, I had to buy some crap Bill and Mandy game too. Oh well.
I thought I probably might get one somewhere else without having to buy a bundle, but I was probably going to get 3 out of 4 of those games anyways. The way I look at it, I had to pay 50 bucks extra for a game I don't want for the peace of mind knowing that I've got one in the mail before Christmas and I don't have to try to rush around for one tomorrow.
Well, its too late now anyways. They are sold out of all 4 bundles. Slickdeals is claiming amazon.com has it at 3 AM eastern, no bundle, just the system.
I asked the same thing. I don't understand it either. I did camp for a PS3, but only because I wanted two I camped 3 hours for my Wii preorder.....better than camping the day or night before launch.
