I saw people lined up at the Cedar Park Wal-Mart on the way to work this morning. It was around 7 AM. It's hard to say how many were waiting, but I would say there had to be at least 15-20.
well damn, I guess even I underestimated the demand. glad I did my time early. I'll post back sometime later tonight, going to a car dealership and it's my girlfriend's bday tonight...we'll pick up mine from gamestop @ midnight. gl everyone who is trying to get one. AND GIVE ME YOUR COMPONENT CABLES!
There is a chance that those of you who think Wiis will be easily available up to Christmas may be upset. I just get the weird feeling that, if it takes off, you're going to see a lot of units move.
Ha! I know those two people, well one of 'em anyways. He asked me to go with him and his friend...I'm like, yeah I'll think about it... I'm not about to spend 14 hours camped out...a couple hours I can take. And if I don't get one I won't be upset; I can wait if I have to.
I just called almost every Wal-Mart in the Austin area and was told by every one that there are already more people in line than units. I might have to go camp out at a Target or something.
Nintendo World in NYC + guilty wife who hasn't bought me anything since last Christmas FTW. I hear they're supposed to have hundreds of units, maybe thousands (I serisouly doubt thousands, but then again....)
Any updates on houston stores...dont want to wait more than an hour tonight...thinkin wal mart or the toys r us...they said they had 20 people waiting 2 hrs ago and have 100 in stock
So has Nintendo started cracking down on rom sites yet? I've still got a few holes in my collection...
Well here's what I've found out so far by a quick trip around my area... Circuit City: 20 units tomorrow morning, first come first served (no line yet) Wal Mart: "20-something" units tonight at midnight, first come first served (about 15 people in line already) Best Buy: "20-something" units tomorrow morning, first come first served (2 people in line but they seemed to think there might be a midnight sale ) Target: 15 units tomorrow morning, first come first served (no line yet) Sooooo, it doesn't look so great right now. Every one of those places is coming in under the expected number of units according to wiiseeker. Wal Mart was supposed to have 54 and Best buy was about the same. Doesn't seem impossible to get one without waiting all day and night, but it's defiintely going to take some luck unless I find a place with a lot more than 20. I'm about to go check about 4 more places so hopefully there's a change of fortune.
well i hope i can some accessories and games tomorrow from any of those places. i really really want trauma center
I called the gamestop I got my preorder at, and not only do they only have enough for the preorders on the wiis...but the controllers and memory cards as well...crazy.
wiiseeker is wrong. retailers will get alot more than just 15-20 wii's. my local walmart told me they had 31 in stock.
I just posted 3 places that came in under their wiiseeker numbers... Wal Mart said 54 on wiiseeker, but only has "20-something" Best Buy said 52 on wiiseeker, but only has "20-something" Target said 24 on wiiseeker, but only has 15
Oh sorry, I read your post wrong. I thought you meant that wiiseeker said they were receiving 15-20 units. In actuality thats what you found out by calling/visiting the local retailers. Thats weird...why are they releasing such a low supply? Are they trying to create an artificial shortage to build hype? Regardless of what the situation is, I've been told that they'll receive shipments every week. So whoever wants one but can't find one on day one, just wait a few days or a week for them to replenish their stock.
Hey, can someone help me out? I'd like to pick up a Wii tonight at Best Buy in the Austin area. (I have loads of gift certificates, so it has to be Best Buy.) 1) Will Best Buy even be open at midnight tonight? 2) Will they have enough units? Thanks in advance.
Well the Walmart on 59 and W. Airport will only have 20 tonight; bout 8 people in line. And I got an update from my friend in line at Toys R Us...there's probably close to 70 in line now. Eh, if I can't get one tonight I'll go in the morning; if I can't get one in the morning I'll check back during the week. No biggie.
