I picked up a second Wiimote today at Target I-10 and Tayor St. It was the last one they had. I then checked Target on San Felipe just inside the loop... no controllers or nunchucks. On my way home I checked Best Buy and Target, 290 at spring cypress... no controllers or nunchucks. 6 days left to find a nunchuck.
Nice to almost meet you too. IIRC, you didn't talk much. Too bad we didn't know we were Rocket fans. What did you think about the games the guy had at Circuit City? Raving Rabbits, Excite Truck and Wii Sports.
The Blade Runner was looking for a Wii for Christmas for his little androids. He shoots, he scores!!! Got one from this guy on Craigslist. This chick with the snake tried to talk me out of it... Arrgh!! But I survived! Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to all.
I was getting pretty tired at that point. I would have said hello for sure if I had known you were a fellow clutchfan. Excite truck was fun. The Raving Rabbits had a bunch of little party games which I think would get old after a while. The Wii tennis and boxing were both a lot more fun than I expected. We didn't play Zelda but I can't wait to give that a try on the Wii. I'm also looking forward to Madden on the Wii. I hope they made good use of the controls.
For those of you interested I got my call today from the Sam's club that I waited in line at a couple of weeks ago. I drove down and picked up my wii at 9am this morning. Now, if i can just find a second controller and Nunchuck I will be golden. DD
Rumor is Toys R Us has 'thousands' of Wiis for this week before Christmas. With 500+ stores, thousands might mean 2-3 per store but at least there are some. They are also said to have 6000 PS3s. Not sure about accessories. FYI.
Yeah. Just found out I missed out on Amazon too. I will be traveling to Granger, WY for business tomorrow. I'm hopeful that the Walmart there will have something. But then again what else would you do in Granger, WY other than drill for gas and play video games So I might not have luck there either.
This is the first console in a long time that I'm pumped about playing. Never liked the gamepads. (to use a PC term) Too many buttons and such. But this looks to be something I can get a charge out of, and my kids are convinced (and so was I!) that they won't get it until sometime after Christmas. Their surprise will be worth the BS of scoring one. I've got Zelda, and I'm going to get Excite Truck. Any other suggestions, folks? Oh, and congrats, DD. Mine was $400 off of Craigslist, and the only reason I nabbed it was that I was the first to call, and the guy had to drive across town right after we talked. Worked out great! He came right to the Randall's at William Cannon. A nice college kid, who had a cute girlfriend that lived Southwest. Must have been fate.
I love Excite Truck. Rampage sucks balls, Wii Sports is awesome. I am thinking about getting Super Swing Golf now. I order all my games from Amazon Prime.
Wii Weather Channel is live now. Went up this morning sometime but I didn't see anyone post here about it. It's pretty simple but very easy to navigate and runs really smoothly/quickly. I like.
I picked up Metal Slug, great game if you like the series. It's the same old stuff they've been rehashing the last 3-4 compilations except this time they finally put all the games on one disc. Playing this game using the Wiimote is acceptable I guess. I personally hate it. You have to jerk the remote to throw a nade and the direction pad is terrible for shooting diagonal. Played the game with a gc controller and it's much better.
Well, I'm in Rock Springs, WY and no luck at Walmart or Gamestop here. I guess my hopeful stereotypes about the people here were wrong. They do more than cow tip around here.
I managed to nab one off Craigslist for $300 last Thursday. The guy threw in Rayman Raving Rabbids for $40. Had to wait in line and hour on Sunday to get an extra Wii remote from EB Games. Also pre-ordered Wii Play. Deckard, you might wanna give Raving Rabbids a shot. My kids and wife certainly like it alot. Me, despite having Zelda, I'm a bit addicted to Wii Sports tennis.
Did you get it from the listing that says you can pick it up local if you're in Las Vegas? It was too cheap so I thought it might be a scam.
Nah. Got it in San Jose, CA. Drove down from Berkeley to pick it up, though. There have been quite a few listings out here dealing Wii's for under $350.
Deckard, go with either Rayman or Monkey Ball. Both have a huge mix of minigames that work pretty well with the controller.
