You were lucky, Glyde; they aren't supposed to sell them till Black Friday. Apparently they were made aware this through email. Either the manager of that store didn't know, or didn't care. He/She could get in trouble for that. Luckily they might not have seen the email in time. Unfortunately, my sister was close to getting one for me...but it'll have to wait till Friday.
Dammit I just half unintentionally won the bid on eBay $360 shipped. Was just messing around but now will have to buy it. Wife is furious. At least the scalper only pocketed $60. I hope it gets here tomorrow like the auction said it would.
$360 with no extras? If so, the scalper pocketed more than $60. More like $110. The system is $249.99 not $299.99.
Sounds like overnight shipping was included. Overnight shipping = $40-$50 and tax is $20. $360 - $60 = $300.
what he said, you got raped. least your wii will keep you company, and you can make her play it so she'll be less pissed at you.
Overnight shipping is included. Also, don't forget tax (at least I don't think the seller's state is a no-tax state). So $60 to the scalper, not $110 (and that's before eBay fees, and time-value of him freezing his ass off standing in line where he's from). Phew, I feel much better now.
Yeah...you're right. Taxed Wii console is $271 (using 8.25% tax) + ~$45 for overnight shipping + miscellaneous eBay fees ($10?) = $336 out of seller's pocket. So he made $24 for his troubles. Why bother?
for those of you following my epic battle with ups for my component cables, I just got them...and listen to this the "damage" on the box...was a 1/2 inch dent. initially I was thinking I'm just happy to have them so I won't complain, but screw that after seeing why it was "undeliverable" for and paying for 2 day then getting 5? they're going to pay my shipping costs.
I read a lot about those errors too RC. Nintendo is claiming it is not widespread and that it only seems so because everyone who has the problem is jumping on the forums and talking about it. The truth is probably somewhere in between. There's definitely something weird with the firmware update. Maybe it's good that I have to wait a week or two to get one. Coincidentally, I stopped by Gamestop on Hollister@290 and they said they will get another batch in on Black Friday. I guess ClutchCity got lucky with his.
Regarding the error codes, I have had no problems. The only issue I've had is that the first two times I tried to play a game (Wii Sports), it wouldn't read the disc and asked me to turn the console off and look at the manual for troubleshooting advice. So I took the disc out and wiped it from the inside out as directed, popped it back in, and all has been fine since then. Hopefully it stays that way. RC Cola, The Red Steel review is up now, if you want to post it in your usual format for everybody.
I had the 32002 error last night. Nintendo has a fix now listed on the support site. they suggest making sure your router is set on channel 1 or 11. i was on 6 so i switched it. It looks like that may have solved my trouble. got through the first update section in about 1 minute which only got about 1/8 of the way through last night before timing out. 2nd update is pluggin along nocely. SO if you run into that problem that may help you.
I normally just post one review (from either GS or IGN) per game unless it is something notable like Zelda. Gamespot's Red Steel review was posted a few pages back (by you I think), so I didn't really see any need to post the IGN review. I guess I can if anyone wants me to. I don't know...all that needs to be said is that the game is pretty bad. That’s all that needs to be said, no review text necessary. Thanks for the heads up though.
Mines is set on channel six and it works fine. Now that this is brought up, Im interested in learning how to change the channel and what purpose it serves.
I've talked to a few people that actually enjoy Red Steel, I normally trust their impressions rather than IGN/Gamespot. I don't have very high expectations for it anyway, neither did he, so that could be a factor. I won't be getting it unless I trade in Marvel Ultimate Alliance at Walmart or something for Red Steel
console, sensor bar, wiimote + 1 nunchuku + wii sports separately: memory card (if you need one), extra wiimotes / nunchukus / component cables ([if you have hdtv] I got mine, yay!!!!), ethernet adapter (if you don't have wireless), games (duh)
