Try reseting your router. It didn't work for me as well and still wouldn't work after I reset the router. The second time I tried after the reset it worked.
So, I am going to wait to get a system of my own, but I went over to a friend's and tried it out. Damn impressive. Very responsive, and you can tell that when a game uses it well (some of the Wii Sports, for example) it really does take the whole act of playing a game to another level. Something as simple as bowling suddenly becomes entertaining. To add to the 'drawing everyone in' mantra; at my friends house was his dad. His dad does not play video games. At all. When I got there, he'd been playing for about an hour and a half - baseball, golf, bowling - with a couple of the guys there. He was completely blown away. The system - potentially - could be very big. Also, Red Steel is utter ****. Stay away.
To answer the blue light question: The slot light is illuminated whenever you receive an update from your wireless connection. There's an option to leave the internet connection in 'standby' mode meaning it's always on, even if you're not playing the system. If the Wii downloads updates (like weather, news, or new messages on the message board) then the slot will blink to signal new incoming data.
I just called the Target and Best Buy by my house and they had no idea when they would get more. Wouldn't even say if it was with in the week or three weeks. Just we really have no idea.

Yo, try ebay, seriously. I bought one this morning with an extra nunchuck and wii remote for like $30 over retail. Factoring in tax and the headache of trying to find one, this was worth it. Plus it is shipped to me overnight, so no headaches at all. There are a crap load online, and if you snipe one you will get a d=good deal for sure.
I just got mine during lunch.. It was the Game Stop in Royal Oaks shopping center, I have been talking to the store manager since a few days before the launch and she said they would be getting a second small shipment the day after launch around noon and sure enough they did and I got one .. They only got three BTW and before I was out the door they were gone .. I'm going to try playing it later tonight..

It was around 11:45am and like I said they were gone.. She did say they hope to have another shipment by Wednesday at 12:00pm.. I'd give them a call tomorrow around lunch to see if they got any..
