I really don't understand why NY suck so bad. Their coach may be flawed, but at least he's been consistently successful. Their roster doesn't even look all that bad. I mean, you can argue that they're not less talented than the Rockets roster. Especially if you factor in the Eastern/Western conference disparity. For this team to be at the bottom of the barrel in a year which Utah gets its 1st round pick... disgusts me to no end. The only light at the end of the tunnel is if they totally strike out in FA and we get a Knicks lottery watch next year.
Ha lack of talent, lack of defense, lack of ball movement, lack of will. Hopefully they do strike out.
haha, I know His BB IQ is exceptional. He can draw fouls easily. I bet he can get to the line 20 times a night if he really wants to. That being said, his explosion is gone, or else we would be seeing more And 1's. Good thing is, most of his vertical is still there, which is harder to gain than explosion IMO.
because Mike D'Antoni is a terrible defensive coach. All O and no D. he got by by having great offensive teams who were tops in the league in ppg but were crappy defensive teams. factor this knocks team is not that great offensively with them having no defense is why they are this bad.
They weren't crappy defensive teams. They were average defensive teams with bloated raw numbers because of their ridiculous pace. If the Knicks played D'Antoni's Suns level of defense, they would likely come close to .500.
Is t-mac playing bad on purpose to get revenge against the Rockets by giving the Jazz, a higher draft pick? Or were the Rockets right all along about going slow with T-Mac's minutes?
I wouldn't say he is playing bad right now. He is definitely playing better than most players on the Rocket's roster right now. The only difference is he is making 23 mil.
It sucks the MFS took most of Mac's speed and leaping ability. Watching some of his younger videos, he did some amazing things that looked effortless. Now you can tell by just watching him run that he's lost it. But to be fair, he did just come off the surgery and therefore I'd give it a while to see where he actually ends up as a player. Even still though, Tracy is so gifted that he can still give you 15ppg a night right now, just running off talent. Not everything goes away.
The question isn't whether T-Mac could score 15ppg or get you 5-10 assists every game. It's whether he could do so in a structured offense where he's not the primary playmaker. It's whether he can fill the stat sheet when he's playing alongside Yao/Martin/Brooks or Lebron/Bosh. It's whether he can defend enough to make his overall contribution positive. Adelman obviously deemed that T-Mac was not capable of such things. And so far I have no seen any reason to doubt his decision. But nothing's certain in this world, so you never know.
I can see T-Mac being a double digit assist point guard next season if he starts full time at point on a good team. This guy is too good at passing.
