I would say that it was great for just the 2004-05 season. After that, the only bright spot there was for him was just helping the Rockets carry on that 22-game winning streak 2 years ago after Yao got injured.

If he is like he is now, I'm not so sure if going overseas to continue playing pro basketball would be the solution for him. Earlier in this thread, I made a fearless prediction of him being blackballed out of the league this upcoming offseason.

By the way, on Magicmadness.net, I can't believe there's hardly no bashing of T-Mac going on like there is on this board. I guess that people on that board care only about what's going on with their own team, not about T-Mac even though he's an ex-player of their's too. Here's the link to the one thread on that forum that has only two replies since that trade was made as I write this post.

I was hoping Tracy could at least earn himself a new contract with the Knicks, so that he can play alongside with superstar Joe Johnson in 2011.

Tracy with a contract, he would be coasting NY into a top 3 pick for us.

Sigh, oh well. At least he is still making phone call to scare LBJ away.

Last year he wasn't healthly and this year he actually is but his confidence and rythm is way down. and if tracy isnt confident (althouth he says he is) he cant play.

this season he is running very well but he hasnt regained any explosivness or quickness which doesn't allow him to blow past people.

what's more he can't shot. his firm looks really bad. he has no lift, no elevation no arch on those shots.

at least last year he shot 40% from downtown.

just look at that banked shot against thunder.....ughhhhh UGLY

but the knicks shouldn't worry. they would have been losing without tracy as well.

he will come off the book this offseason and they will not resign him. period.

i think having made it to the finals last year, having a finals contender this year probably has a bit more discussion value to them than a former player who left their team 5 years ago.

i am sure the outrage for mcgrady will be far less on this board in 5 years as well.

It seems as if T-Mac doesn't even try anymore, he doesn't care about winning, or playing hard; cutting, setting screens, coming of picks etc. He cares more about his image, I wish he would just give 110 percent every game but he doesn't. He used to be and still kind of is my Fav. player but its slowly fading.

Tracy McGrady is injury-prone and has a history of knee and back problems. Even if he comes back from this and is a shell of his former self (still a great player), it's only a short matter of time before he'll have to retire for good. It's sad to see such a great player go like this, but the way he's handled situations in Houston (with his announcement of micro-fracture surgery before letting the team know), has alienated a lot of fans.

I believe that Daryl Morey made the right decision by trading Tracy, and we're much better in the future talent-wise and chemistry-wise without him.

why would anyone go to ny? to play with duhon, harrington, rodriguez, etc... that team isn't going to win anything so the only players who will go there will be the ones who are on crappy teams and just want money

lbj isn't going to leave a team that is among the best in the league for a crap ass, terribly managed and couched team that is the knicks

he may be healthier, but he isn't healthy. he needs to gain his legs back so he can get his shot back, he has always shot at the top of his jump, now he jumps significantly lower and his shot is much flatter.

I am really looking forward to 3/21 when we go to NY to play the knicks (in the midst of our playoff push). I want to see if he tries to stick it to us. I could see him putting up 20+ shots to try and prove something. Shooting his team right out of it. We will have Lowry and Ariza back by then so he will get a big dose of Battier and Ariza all day... They will make him have to work for his shots.

Im sure the forum will be hot like fiyah that Sunday afternoon.....

i don't think he'll be playing, probably say he'll sit this one out. If he does play then I think one of these will probably happen
1.k mart get carreer high 60+ with tmac(or galo if tmac doesn't) defending him
    2. Battier and ariza completly shut him down.
    3. ariza posterizes him when tmac decides to defend trevor instead of kevin.

He'll probably be well into retirement from pro basketball within that time frame.

Actually it's worse than that. The Knicks only have four players signed going into next season.
-Eddy Curry who's guaranteed to pick up his player option.
    -Danillo Gallinari
    -Wilson Chandler
    -Tony Douglas
-Bill Walker and JR Giddens both have team options

I'm not sure what in the heck NY's thinking but how are you going to lure Top Dollar free agents to your team if technically you don't have one. I'm assuming they think that if they sign a big name, guys will sign with them for vet mins but damn, you have to have some type of core to at least let guys know that you're serious.

That's like seeing a fully furnished house for sale but when you get there, there's patio furniture in the living room and a cooler and plastic summer chairs in the dining room

I'm pretty sure that board has already exploded when MerGady was traded to us. At this point, he's not even worth their attention. It's been what, 5-6 years for them?

Whereas for us, it's still fresh and it's still very fun making fun of him. Especially since his antics aren't stopping one bit there. It's going in full force and we're just enjoying the impending raping he'll get from the NY media if he continues his usual crap.

Exactly, especially the part about the fact that he hasn't played for that team in over half a decade.

If he was just traded from their team, you'd likely see very similar reactions. I say that understanding that the circumstances may have been different for McGrady had he been on a different team over the last several years. My guess, though, is that whatever those circumstance would hypoethetically be, they wouldn't involve McGrady getting a lot of love from Magic fans.
