he had his moments of brilliance offensively with the knicks this season. But his defense just took a nosedive if it was any good in the first place. If you watch him play defense with the knicks he just stands there and gives token resistance, he isn't even trying to be decent defensively. But then again maybe he is playing for the perfect coach in d antoni, the man who loves offense and cares little for defense.

Why would he play def? People only play def if they want to win. T-mac isn't trying to win, but rather inflate his stats for next season.

defense is also accounted for statistically and an integral part of a player's value as well.

Some posters here really need to learn how to spell properly...

I just wish T-mac the best, now that he's no longer a Rocket I wish him all the luck he can get.

i believe it b/c its plain for all to see - i just dont understand it, especially w/ regards to t-mac.

fan of dream even after he went to toronto - yes
fan of durant even though he is on a team we are fighting w/ for a playoff spot - yes
fan of duncan even though he is on a rival team - yes

    fan of t-mac - no

the track record w/ this guy is clear - he has left every team he has played for on bad terms - is it the raptors, magic and rockets franchises or is it t-mac?

and unlike dream or even 'franchise', we didnt draft t-mac - we are just a stop-over on his career, nothing more. so as a rockets fan why would you put your 'loyalty' to him over the team. even w/ steve-o, he started his career here so i can see fans feeling 'loyalty' towards him, but why for t-mac?

That's not what McGrady was saying until recently.

The point is that he went to several specialitsts who said his knee was fine. Eventually, he found a doctor who would perform microfracture. The fact that he had to fly around the country to find someone to give him the diagnosis he was looking for is a huge red flag.

Now, after declaring himself fully healthy and ready to play big minutes (and his trainer claiming his athleticism was what it was in his Toronto days) he looks like **** on the court and is crying about the knee. He is saying the EXACT same things that he said last year before the microfracture.

Mostly because they were a fan of MerGady before he got here, hence a 'Gady fan before the Rockets. It's pretty simple actually, a lot of fans are like that, in the sense that they follow players where ever the player goes and root for them (blindly) no matter what.

What I don't get is how they still manage to support MerGady at this point. It's really unbelievable the amount of excuses they make for him.

that was a very short stint with toronto. that and rudy going to the lakers were almost like blips in their career.

kinda like when bullard went to the hawks! :p

I don't really understand the justification for it either.

I understand Kobe, Duncan, AI, LeBron, Wade and of course Jordan, Magic, Bird and the greats.

All of them are winners, individual and team wise.

Which is what I've been saying about why Adelman didn't play him since December. No point in having him on the floor when back in December he couldn't defend or even create a shot for himself.

Still depsite all the recent drama, I will still keep McGrady's finer moments as a Rocket in my heart and consider him one of the super stars to put on the uniform. He isn't up there with Murphy, Dream or Clyde but he is still up there.

just disregard those comments. if you like watching and supporting mcgrady, then i think it's all fine and gravy. that shouldn't take away your rocket fanhood.

it's like i enjoy watching lebron james more than any other current NBA player. that does not mean i am a fan of the damn cavs.

    you know what i mean.

there are mcgrady fans who become Rockets fans and remain Rockets fans. then there are Rockets fans who became fans of McGrady. But being Rockets fans who actually follow the Rockets, they know why he's in New York now.

and there are the majority of the other McGrady fans like
