really? weird...but what exactly happened? coaches usually don't ask players to go in, they tell them to...so did he tell him to and tmac refused, or did he actually give him a choice? If hisknee was acting up i can't really blame him, it would be stupid for him to keep going.
From what I read, Mike asked him to go back in with a little over 3 minutes to go and Tmac said no, that his knee had tightened up. DD
He's looking out for himself. We already know that's his MO. He's got to push through the pain, IMO, to make any real progress. But that's just me, I don't know how high the risk is of going in when the knee is tight.
The dynasty that never happened... <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/3BmpFkVtYb0&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/3BmpFkVtYb0&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> It could've been something special, but I guess it's time to move on. Bon Voyage Tracy McGrady. Farewell, sweet prince.
http://www.nba.com/knicks/gamerecaps/nykwasrecap100226.html The above link has the recap of the game with a few extra quotes plus the post game interview from d'antoni. Tracy and D'Antoni seem to have a pretty good relationship since they're both laid back and there's really nothing on the line this season except the continued improvement of the Knicks' core players. It's like they're playing exhibition games based on the way D'Antoni was talking about his interaction with McGrady. But like I said, who can blame him when there's nothing on the line and half the team's players' contracts expire after the year ends?
I don't see anything wrong with that. He and the coach probably agree that he should be listening to his body.
Everything about this post is pretty fruity. PS Not that there's anything wrong with that! Just sayin
That's what would make it funny. Obviously, you had your funny bone removed a long time ago and is, sadly, unable to detect humor, nor produce a laughter. Awww.
and your point is? for the first time he's actually doing what he said he'd do and that is playing 20-25 minutes per game which is obviously the right thing to do
from my perspective, this is the best tracy has looked the last 2 years or so, and this is w/o much lift nor athleticism, and those things will come. he's moving much better offensively, esp. making his post moves. he took it to the rack quite frequently tonight, but got blocked several times. i'm encouraged. i think the knee still limits his defensive lateral movement. hopefully that will improve as well. he's definitely going to play much better next year no doubt.
He still has excellent body control and is respected by officials and opponents. He got the And 1 calls and played quite well. Once he gets more used to playing he should get blocked less.
He'll be a star again and maybe even a borderline allstar once he gets his lift back.one thing i've noticed is he s using his body better and position himself better at drawing fouls and getting to the free throw line.
Well, it's obviously not an exhibition game when the coached ASKED T-Mac to go back in the 4th quarter. The head coach deemed the game worthy of winning. T-Mac didn't. I can't imagine Kobe or Micheal go up to Phil and say, "Nah... not really worth it."
