Bingo. And depending on how the rest of this season plays out, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of him deciding to hang 'em up. If no good team offers him a contract in the offseason, he may decide it's just not worth putting his body through the grind to play few minutes for few dollars for an average to below average team.
I could not put myself through another Knicks basketball game (if that is what they are playing out there!) So I gotta ask the objective observers here: how did McGrady do tonight? Is he moving better or worse?
He played tonight, good for him, it will take him doing that to get the explosion back, he has to get the confidence to just GO FOR IT. DD
This game was actually not that bad to watch. He was moving around fine. His defense was ok for his standard tonight, on offense he just jogged up the court, usually the last to pass the mid court line, and then just park at the 3pt line and chill. Some players slack off on the defensive end, Mcgrady now seems to slack off on the offensive end more. His passing is still too good, but when he is not touching the ball, he is about as useful as a statue out there.
Does he think before he speaks. I thought he was working towards a contract.. Keep that to yourself, Genius.. I still don't believe he said that, LOL.. TMAC is on another mental level there in New York he is talking like he is untouchable.. "Bumped knee I don't think I'll be able to go against The Celtics." "I didn't feel comfortable taking that shot." He is talking really reckless right now!
HAHA wow gotta hand it to him he lets it all hang out on the interviews/quotes. Anybody with common sense would not have said anything like that.
I used to be annoyed by his interviews when he was a Rocket, but now I think it's kind of refreshing. "I didn't think I was going to play, but I'm back but my knees hurt but I felt good I took that last shot and it felt good but I wasn't confident about it." The hell with the politically correct. Tell us what you feel right now, T-Mac!
The story people seem to push is that T-mac announced his surgery last year to prevent a trade to New Jersey...the worst team in the NBA. Your theory goes directly against that. So which is it?
Things have changed a lot since last season. I'm not saying that Dave_78's assessment is accurate but McGrady's motivations after he got sent away from the team this season were probably very different than they were before last season's trade deadline.
