lol @ folks always trying to find anything negative. for somebody who has not played in a while other than 7 and a half minutes for a few games, he looked very good. Sure he isn't in basketball shape but the only way to get there is to play in real NBA games. Remember, this isn't the hard working, gritty Rockets he's playing with. Its the Knicks. Yes, they lost but hey, the Rocket lost with their new player too. It is not the end of the world as we know it.
I think the Rockets did a good thing changing things up and getting rid of McGrady. In Kevin Martin we now have a player that is younger and a better fit with Yao. Only thing is that knee jerk posters will criticize every game kevin plays bad. As far as TMac is concerned, I dont think that anyone in their right mind can say that his ability to execute like he did for the Knicks tonight would not have added a few wins for the Rockets had he played. Especially when you consider the Rockets level of inability to make plays in late game situations. Hes nowhere near the level of defender that Battier and Ariza are, but then again the Rockets arent exactly stiffling teams with their defense either. In the end I like the direction the Rockets are going, but its silly to hate on McGrady and say that he would not have contributed winning plays for this Rockets team...
I definitely do not blame him for those missed FTs. Missing those was exhaustion and not having his legs, plain and simple. I'm talking more about his shot selection at the end of games. He's always been able to score and pass but those long jumpers and 3s in crunch time with a defender in his face killed Houston. I'm not counting Tmac out. I actually want him to do well but gottdam! Durant versus Tmac... new hotness versus old hotness
This is why I was okay with getting rid of McGrady. He was no longer athletic enough to beat his man without a PnR and his defense had deteriorated to being humorous. ...then we get Kevin Martin.
Guys... there is no reason to hate on him anymore. He's not on the Rockets just let it go. Enjoy whatever spotlight he's getting on the Knicks..
He proves people right and wrong at the same time. He gives lovers the stats and styles. The haters the lack of productive accomplishment, quotables and injuries to point at. McGrady is unfazed and deeply fazed by it all at the same time. He's got a cool demeanor like life's a cake walk. But then the "On Me" and publicity he tries to put on himself shows he's way affected. I dont know why people watch cheezy reality shows, knowing alot of them are probably scripted. But they do anyway. Everyone likes a story line.
If NY whiffs on LeBron, I hope they sign T-Mac. It will be lotto season again, when T-Mac breaks something.
If LeBron signs with the Knicks, I think McGrady would resign with them for the minimum just to ride his coattails past the first round.
There is no incentive for LeBron to sign with NY for less money, if the Knick's players are worse than Cleveland.
Not sure if one better was posted, but here are all the T-Mac highlights from his debut as a Knick... <object width="640" height="505"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/UKcvLFpa_nU&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/UKcvLFpa_nU&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="505"></embed></object>
I know, he took it to the hole all game, he does that when he feels he has something to prove, he will come down and start settling soon enough. His hunger is not a constant thing it is an occassional thing. DD
good to see, though i feel like we saw it when he came back from prolonged absences.. and then it disappeared after 10 games. I hope he keeps it up, but my guess is that he'll fade into the jumpshooting Tracy soon enough
