Kevin martin doesn't have nearly the skills that mcgrady has but he is a better pure shooter and he draws more fouls. Both these things suit and Adelman offense better and possibly they suit are current roster better as well. We'll need at least through the rest of the season to see who the better player at this point is.

As far as the rocket's game, Martin looks a little flat which is most likely all from nerves. He'll be fine once the team adjusts to each other.

Would have won one if the refs hadn't screwed him over.
And while we're playing this game: how many Conference Finals has D'Antoni made it to? Zero. Adelman? Finals once, Conference Finals more than one.
Take your McGrady love and GTFO out of the Rockets board.

My only problem with the Kevin Martin comparison with T-mac is ,I don't think Kevin Martin fits better next to Yao Ming. Simply because we don't have a good passer on the team anymore. Aaron is not great, neither is Yao Ming or Scola. Neither Is Ariza. T-mac was effective with Yao because he was effectively playing Point Guard half the time. I can see how he doesn't fit now but this game shows his passing skills once again. If he can keep this kind of driving up his going to be pretty nasty and would have been a better fit. But Kevin Martins movement off the ball is a different world to Tracy McGrady

This sounds like when the board said "ARENAS IS BACK" a few months ago, and we all know how that turned out.....

Who the hell do you think you are telling people to get off the board? You don't own the board. He's entitled to any opinion he wants...same as you.

I live in nyc and I would love for tmac to reinvigorate theknicks. Its been pretty rough having to decide between watching the nets or the knicks on cable. I've been opting for none of the above.

So for arguement sake, lets say McGrady tears it up the rest of the year, and avgs at lest 20+ a game and makes the Knicks look decent. Anyone thinks he actually stays in NY for the LLE?

Most want to see T-mac put up 30. You want Martin to put up 50?! A little farfetched for Martin's first game don't you think? C'mon now.

    nah stop overreacting

Tmac was decent, his efficiency was hurt later in his stint here because he refused to go to the basket and because he kept jacking up 3 pointers and tough jumpers at inopportune times. His shot selection was ****ty but he wasn't BAD in terms of efficiency. For BAD look at Ariza this year.

I thought Tmac could still contribute but Morey and Adelman simply didn't want to give him an opportunity to take over the team.

Tmac is what he is. He wont have suddenly turned himself into a solid finisher which is what his real problem was in Houston

You watch Martin much dude? He's not similar to Tmac at all. First of all Martin moves without the ball to set up his shots, Tmac needs the ball in his hands. Martin goes to the hole as often as he shoots jumpers, Tmac does not. There's not much similarity at all. Martin is like Reggie Miller light, better spot up shooter than Tmac, cuts to the basket etc. Tmac is a pull up shooter off the dribble etc.

No one thinks Martin is as good as Tmac was in his prime. But he is an efficient scorer for a Houston team that needs one badly.
