The explosiveness is slowly coming back. remember, it took amare 12 months of continues playing to get his explosiveness back after micro fracture surgery and he was only 24 then. he looked terrible when he returned, but now he is a beast.McGrady has only been playing like 2 and half months at best. He will only get better and better by playing. his graduall improvement since he came back with the Rox till now is pretty evident.
Well it looks like he may be starting to come around. he is not forcing shots and he is making them the last 2 games. But I still don't understand why not play him in the 4th at all. How about playing him for 6 minutes in the 3rd, give him some rest and also give him around 5,6 mins in the 4th.
no one understands d'antoni. knicks fans complain about it all the time.lol. same with adelman in houston. lol.
Tmac's body is slowly but surely is getting stronger especially the knee. it's obvious the knee is still not ready for a full game, but the improvement is evident. three weeks ago, he couldnt blow by a snail or jump over a midget. in the last two games he beat both ariza and budinger off the dribble with ease and last night he almost dunked it all over the bird man who is an elite shot blocker.

Looked very good to me. He looks quicker and quicker every single game. And that move was suprisingly quick. And notice that he jumped off his LEFT (repaired) leg. It is pretty amazing. He has looked much better last two games (shooting 60% from the field) but we will see. I wouldn't be suprised if he goes 0-10 against Suns
wow....that would have been good. i have no doubt he has game left, but very doubtful on how long he can stay healthy.
i think what we are seeing with tmac is that his leg is finally gaining strength he thought it would come much faster. when he first played again, he played mostly off of adrenaline so he played well that first game. then the fatigue/soreness came b/c he had been away for so long -> hence the inconsistency and standing around. now the last few games, you see him regaining some type of explosiveness, even his first step. it's obvious there is progress, albeit too slow lol. it'll be interesting to see how he finishes out the season. if he continues this type of progress, expect a much better tmac next season. this offseason, he'll have to settle for a very small contract obviously (and i think he will resign with the knicks for the vet's min). at least now he'll OVERPRODUCE way beyond what his contract is.
Let's see how long he can stay healthy as well. Remember guys, T-Mac is historically does NOT have the mental or physical fortitude to stay healthy. He has always show flashes of explosion. We all know he is capable of occasional amazing things. The question is, how long will it take and will it last? Also, typically when the going gets tough, T-Mac quits. I really hope though that T-Mac does recover, no matter how badly he burned bridges with the Rockets and Rocket fans. It is simply that with his age and past history, I have a real hard time believing anything he says and does.
lets not forget it was JR Smith he went by not someone who I think of immediately when I hear the word "perimeter defender" but yes it is an encouraging sign to mcgrady fans. i dont think i can forgive him for his antics here in houston but i dont wish ill on him like some others here, the guy when healthy and motivated was a joy to watch. the sad thing is saying "when motivated" about an nba player of his caliber, he cant control his health at times but he can always control his intensity. i think tmac can be a solid player/boderline all-star still but he is going to have to work just as hard this summer if not harder as he did last summer, question is will he?
