What? You realize he played against the Rockets today right....? Where were the loud boos? Did you seriously call me a goofus lol.
Hey, don't insult the Tmac fans like that! They NEVER quit..... making excuses (but, if, when, healthy, injury, kobe, yao, hurt, had a tim duncan, in orlando, morey, rick adelman..)
Did you even watch the game? Why would there be boos if the game was payed in NY? Wait till he plays against the Rockets in HOUSTON then listen.
check this out, they still boo his ass in Toronto! <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/5JAnJIxkIMY&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/5JAnJIxkIMY&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
The bigger question is...."Is he done?"..... I mean he can still do some things...but his explosion is just gone....and if he doesn't get it back he is a passing role player at best. I think his career as a lead dog is long gone..... Can he accept a lessor role? I have no idea. DD
I'll give you that they still boo him in Toronto but they were booing him every chance they got because of what he said about Toronto and why he didn't think anybody would want to go there. He hasn't said anything but words of kindness towards Houston so the boos next year will be minor if any.
I highly doubt he'll be any better than what you see now. He's too old to be effective coming off mf surgery. Amare was the best example of mf recovery, but he was what? 21 at the time? Tmac is 30...he's heavier, has a slower metabolism and doesn't have as much to play for. I don't think he really wants a ring, not when pushing his body at this point might make it hard for him to walk normally again. Tmac was great, but he's not anymore and never will be...it was nice while it lasted, but everyone's career ends sometime, and everyone knew(including himself) that he wouldn't last as long as the 'normal' player due to the mileage he acquired from a young age.
What about the sacred city of Orlando? <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/T-Ekfbt8aew&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/T-Ekfbt8aew&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
I know he is booed by both teams, but really do you think he is going to get booed? He was booed last year during the playoffs for his remark about the Lakers winning it all, but was cheered every time he came in this season. I haven't really seen Houston boo any old players except Artest but that was late in the game. And it was the Lakers so that might have been a big factor.
i i am a knicks and a rockets fan, I missed mcgrady in houston, now he is in new york, i hope he can become fully healthy again!
Our fans are pretty fickle.. We aren't die-hard enough to "boo" consistently. I don't think our fans in general really care or are paying attention..
That's what I'm trying to say. It wasn't like McGrady hated Houston and was glad he left due to his hatred. He left cause he wasn't in our plans and wasn't the player he used to be. And to get Martin, Hill, and even Jeffries is a big factor in the positive side. I'll be happy to see McGrady next year but I'm even happier that we got some key players that will help contend next year. Why would I boo that........some of useguys are just strange.
ill will bet you $50 to the tip jar that in his first game back in h-town the boos will be louder than the cheers. i come down for a game a year - i might 'circle it on my calendar', if you will.
