    That's an ignorant statement.

Those around Giannis are past 30 and Middleton has been out.
    ____________:

Put Giannis on the Rockets (undefeated)

Pu Sengun with no Middleton....aging Dame (no defense), aging Bobby Portis, aging Brook Lopez,
    (probably 1-6 or 0-7)

Your are better than that 77.....you know defense is more about those around you than
    true individual defense.

Ariza was a good defender but always had to leave his assignment to help Beverley and
Harden on the perimeter. Ariza DRtg would get high because his assignment would always
be left open and make the shot. Ariza was our SF so when opposing team SF put up a high FG%....
    it would go against Ariza.

Ariza would help keep the opposing teams PG to a lower FG% and that would go towards
bringing down Beverley DRtg or to SG Harden respectfully.

Stats are not always as they appear.

    16/17: DRtg
    Beverley: 108 DRtg
    Harden: 107 DRtg
Ariza: 108 DRtg (prior to this year was always around 102 DRtg)

If we are going to take stats too literally:
    Player......points.....Rebs....Asts.....PER
    Sengun.....16.4........11.4......3.9.....22.1
    Giannis.....31.0........12.3......6.3.....29.6

*Rockets have one of the easiest schedules to start the year.

Haven't you heard? Giannis can guard 3 open three point shooters at once!

Youre comparing a 30 year old superstar to a 22 year fringe allstar just starting out. doesnt really seem fair. also yes Giannis is 1-6 lol cry more.

It's a team sport dingbat. Those around you makes a difference.

Rockets young players are swarming everywhere and covering up Sengun poor defensive flaws
while Dame has never been accused of playing defense (now age 35), Brook Lopez is age 36,
Bobby Portis is 29 and nobody can name the rest on the team. Middleton has been out.

....and Rockets have one of the easiest schedules thru first 18 games. You no nothing about
basketball, you must be from Turkey. I don't waste time talking to nobodies who think they
    know something.....but don't.

Why do you think Giannis would want out of Milwaukee? Because those with him got too old,

Giannis has fallen off a lot on defense. He's a shell of the guy he was back in his prime and he sucks as a rim protector now. Is it possible that in a different situation he would try harder and be better? Maybe, but I don't see why he would quit at the start of this season. He might be better than Sengun (i'm not actually 100% sure) but even if he would, it's not by much. If we're talking about 25 year old giannis, ya he was a monster.

And that's with Brook Lopez, the guy the Rockets tried to throw lots of money at.

A lot of people forget or just don’t know that the learning curve for big men is much more gradual in the NBA. Sengun is only 22 and just starting his 4th year. His blocks and rebounds are up and his steals are 1.1 which puts him at #63 in the NBA, very respectable for a big man.

So much of the rim protection is who is next to you providing help defense.

Having 6'11" Jabari and 6'8" Tari flanking Sengun provides assistance towards Sengun in drop
coverage. Much like 6'10" Michael Porter jr and 6'8" Aaron Gordon do for Jokic. Dillon Brooks
was once know as a defensive player, also helps.

Giannis moves his feet 10 times faster than Sengun and so much of defense is
    "moving your feet"

Giannis leaps 3X's higher than Sengun wishes he could.

Defenses still have to build a 3 man wall of defenders to keep Giannis from scoring.
Dude is averaging 31 points without having a jump shot. Rockets teammates would
    be open.

Even Reed Sheppard might get open enough to actually shoot the ball.

Brooks is a complete nothing as a rim protector, i'd be more confident in reed stopping someone at the rim with his swipes. At his peak, giannis was a fringe DPOY level player (i don't think he ever hit THAT level but he was close). Now he's just a guy. If it's just him being lazy or not caring, that might possibly be fixed, but if it's because his athletism has dropped off it's not fixable. You're thinking of what giannis USED to be, not what he is now or will be as he ages

Dude is still moving around well enough for me. This is just 6 days ago.
And not just vs Edey. JJJ was also there. Note the Grizz needing to form
    a wall still.

I'm talking about defense, not offense. He's still a very good regular season offensive player but is one of the hardest stars ever to build around, and has diminished defensively A LOT.

I saw it firsthand, Sengun moved his feet, he was active and not last missing assignments. He played well on both ends.

Defense, have you ever watched a Rockets game? Sengun playing defense specifically?

Take off your glasses Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder.

Do you understand "Drop Coverage?" How it is meant to keep Sengun by the rim because he
is so da*n slow. Milwaukee version is Brook Lopez.....imagine Sengun sitting and allowing
Giannis the luxury of sitting or camping out near the front of the rim? Surrounding by Tari
    and Jabari?

Well I digress, I'm guessing Sengun is safe because of the extension. The deal probably
would be Jabari, Dillon Brooks, Cam Whitmore, Tate or Jeff Green

    or

    VanVleet and Jabari

I was hoping most picks, Tate, Jeff Green and maybe Jock Landale.....picks being the key.

So don't talk to me about defense when it pertains to Sengun vs Giannis. That's no contest.
Rockets could move from top 5-10 to top 1-5.

Blocks and steals aren’t a great metric to evaluate defensive productivity.

Allen Iverson led the league in steals before.

At this point in time, giannis sucks at defending the rim. It is what it is. You’re still only thinking about what he used to be, but we would be getting current giannis who has slipped massively defensively. I also can’t stand him and he is unwatchable so i don’t want him, but he also is a horrific fit for this team.

You'll are crazy thinking Sengun is better defensively than Giannis.

This is just last year. Take a break at looking at stats and let your eyes see
    the real play.

Sengun > Giannis.......not on this planet. Rockets would be the best in offense, defense and transition

Sengun is not better defensively, nobody ever said that. Last year giannis was better, he has slipped more this year. He's still solid, but nothing special or anything close to what he used to be. By the time the rockets are ready to compete, in a couple years, he will have slipped more and more every season.
