Rubio is like a little version of Marc Gasol. He just makes plays. Spaniards are becoming a great source of talented players that play the game the right way.

Imagine Rubio with better players around him.

I mean Wes Johnson 5ppg @ .345 FG% and .27 3P%, and low rebound/assist numbers + Wayne Ellington even worse numbers were starting until this game.

No wonder Bonzi got a look.

If not for Rubio, Kahn would've drafted busts-only like Wes Johnson, Ellington, Flynn etc

He also drafted Love though, so.... 2 for 5 ain't bad. Better than just collecting 2009 draft busts like Morey.

Rubio is one of the best PGs in the league and one of my favorite players already. I just love how he plays. So unselfish and other players absolutely love playing with a guy like him.

    1. Easy to succeed when you draft in the top 5 picks every year

    2. It's not like teams trade away good young players drafted in the lottery who are sure things...

Looks like Adelman finally listened to me and started Rubio haha. Nice stat line for his first start with 12 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists, 3 steals. But wow, he's going to get burnt out until Barea returns. 44 minutes when you have another game the next night is insane.

Every night when I check highlights, first team I look for is the T-wolves. First time ever watching hoops that has happened since watching the league

Anyone find that Adelman's offense doesn't really suit Rubio? I find that he is more a pick and roll kind of player. Also after watching the Rockets run that offense for so many years, seeing the Twolves run it is cringing. Some players still look like they have no clue how the plays run.

I watch Rockets first, but yes I always check the T-Wolves and Clippers right after that. Some of Rubio's passes remind of me soccer passes, where he throws the ball into an open space and just instinctively knows one of his teammates will get there first. I can't remember which game it was, but there was a play where he made a bounce pass to Kevin Love that demonstrated this ability. Love and his defender were jostling for position and Rubio knew that Love had his body weight shifting towards the basket so he would have a quicker takeoff and get to the ball first should the ball be thrown to that open space. Probably not explaining it very well...but to sum it up Rubio has elite vision.

I may be selling plays such as Nash and Kidd short, but Rubio's abilty to create a highlight reel of passes on a nightly basis are perhaps matched only by Magic Johnson.

Looking forward to the Rockets T-Wolves games coming up. It will be weird though to see Target Center actually lively.
