His passing is sooooo much better than Calderon and his defense is light years better too. Calderon was a better shooter though...for now ! Rubio is special. Jason Kidd part 2. DD
I'm speaking about Salary Cap issues. With Love, Tolliver, Darko, Beasley, Williams, Rubio, Johnson, JJ, Randolph. Beasley and Love are about to blow up their cap, no doubt. If they are committed to keeping williams and rubio, they are going to have to toss a lot of other players REAL QUICK. They got Nikola Pekovic, Brad Miller or a pair of 4 million dollar contracts as well. That's what I mean.
**** With Williams, they might let Beasley walk to keep their salary cap flexibility intact. Might make sense.
I don't know their cap situation off hand, but Love is the only one with a big increase coming up. Beasley will history. Rubio and Williams will be cheap for 3 season AFTER this season. Wesley Johnson for 2 more. Randolph is cheap and will remain so if they keep him. They can cut Martell Webster next summer. Doesn't seem like cap issues are much of a problem for them. If both Rubio and Derrick Williams are worthwhile, maybe 2015 they have issues.
not trying to pick on you but are you david kahn? Then you have no idea what they are going to do with beasley. moving on
I'm not assuming that he is history, which seems like the bigger stretch, and I certainly didn't use that as an argument to refute a poster who was only answering a direct question posed by said poster. seems like the guy who is nit-picking to start an argument is the guy you apparently have no problem with. Did it get on my nerves that he made a point by talking out his you-know-what. Yeah, it did. but that's okay, i'm fine now.
LOL at Rubio's 4th assist in the Milw game. Anyone see that. He passes to Beasley who has his back to the basket and is behind the 3pt line. Beasley then turns and dribbles twice for a pull-up 18'er...Rubio gets credited with an assist. haha
Barrea injured his hamstring. Could lead to Rubio being first guard off the bench. http://www.startribune.com/sports/blogs/136300753.html
Rubio's looking good but I think it should be clear by now he's no J-Kidd. Calling him J-Kidd is a disrespect to J. Kidd, Kidd was a lousy shooter but he's one of the best rebounders and defenders in pg history. Rubio understands the game on par with Kidd, certainly Rubio has better playmaking abilities at his age than Kidd did at his. But right now Rubio's like a lesser Nash without the jumpshot. We'll see if he can take his game to the next level and find some way to compensate for his deficiencies athletically and defensively (like Nash), or he's just the darling pg of the moment and will be exposed in time (like Calderon).
It should mean Rubio becomes the starter and Rinour (no D) comes off the bench for instant offense. Rubio is the guy the first unit needs to calm them down and get Beazley's game into a positive mode. Right now, Beaz is stinking it up big time.
he looked pretty crappy last night from the clips I saw - maybe he'll aim for "no stats all star" status.
Rubio is being over hyped. He is NOT Jason Kidd. At the same age Kidd was light years a head of him. He is similar to Scott Skiles and Rafer Alston fused together. If someone wants a Rubio clone, just sign Omar Cook.
Calderon is an assisting machine. How can Rubio's passing be light years ahead of him (DD used the word too)? Lol at Rubio being Kidd 2.0.
