^I don't see any reason you wouldn't be able to do so...but...I don't know if it takes any extended amount of time to get your membership number activated. You can try though.
Why does that bug you? If you want a EXPENSIVE PS3, why is it wrong to get one when the supply is low and sell it so you can get yours free, and maybe something extra?
Does anyone know a person that would or has actually bought a game system for 2x/3x/4x the retail price?
I am headed to Houston in search of the PS3 right now. If anyone knows of any Best Buy lines under 10 people let me know! 7132525393. Seems crazy to give out a number like that. But its desperate times! Seriously though. Dont feel shy. Call, save my ass...
I don’t know if this helps, but last year American Express said they could get me a 360 during the launch for a few of my reward points (I past on it).. If you are a longtime card holder you might want to try calling an Amex rep and see if they can do anything for you.. Good luck everyone (Who isn’t trying to resell them)
People that are really into the hobby often dislike the fact that while they want to get one for its purpose, an already limited supply is worse by the people who buy only to resell. Hard enough to get one without the five other people in line in front of you who have no plans to keep it. Personally it doesn't bother me; it is just pretty much how the system works. But I fully understand how it does bother some folks.
That is understandable. I also understand how some folks really in the hobby would prefer to get a system for free basically, especially one that is so expensive.
Is sams clubs supposed to get any? thats where i got my xbox 360 and thinkin thats best shot having a business memebership, i advice anyone to do that if you dont have already
I have a business account as well. I'm wondering how many they will have. I may head up there during lunch and see what they say.
From what I've read, Sam's isn't getting many. Some dude on Craigslist is sitting at the one on Hwy 6 and says that location is only getting 2. I went to the Best Buy on Cypresswood and put my name on a list that they had for people waiting outside. I was number 30 and the store was supposed to get 28. I thought they were handing out tickets this morning to hold, but was told I had to wait 24 more hours to get one...immediatly left. A guy I spoke to there said that about half the people were going to try to sell them. I really don't think they are going to get as much as they think they are for the systems. Right now it seems that there is going to be an overabunance of the systems for resale. If I could get my hands on one..I'd wait till X-mas time to sell it. But who knows...there are suckers born every second.
i'm posting from the walmart on 290 right now. been here since midnight last night and they let us sleep inside and gave us a tv, dvd player, and some power outlets for laptops, phone chargers, etc. manager just came out and said they have 18 systems, 12 of them premium. i'm # 13 so just hoping someone in front of me ops for the cheaper system. downside is they're making all of us stay here the entire time till midnight even after they pass out wristbands.
Did you find anything out....im pretty sure im SOL..cant camp out tonight or anything, and all the stores already have lines past their amounts from what I could tell, and this in middle of nowhere in louisiana!!! ill just have to wait for new shipments and also pray for xbox 360 for 100 bucks next thursday...
True, but the goal there isn't necessarily to get the system for free as it is the promise of a huge profit. In addition, most people really upset by this aren't willing or able to cough up the 1200+ needed for the original investment in both systems. By 'really into the hobby' I mean that primarily you really care about getting one to have and play games on, and that's about it. So the idea of someone making it harder for you (and others like you) to do that pisses you off. Like I said, I can understand the point of view, though I don't necessarily agree with it.
Damn dude, you've got all the creature comforts! I tried a few places today and just gave up because there are way more people in line than there are systems at each location, will probably just wait till the PS3 is finally more widespread. Probably buy an X box 360 just to hold me over
The way I look at it is like if the Rockets were in the Finals and you went early in the morning to get your ticket to Game 7 with $500 in hand only to find out that the guy in front of you (who doesn't even like basketball) just bought the last ticket and is now going to put it on eBay for $3,000. You might understand that's how the cookie crumbles and all that, but if you say it wouldn't bother you then you're lying. Am I right?
The cheaper system is the better system. Well...maybe unless you want to use WiFi to connect with the PSP, but there will probably be a work around for that. The PS Store for America is up and running (people with Japanese PS3s are able to check it out...plus the few lucky people with US PS3s). There are demos for Formula One, NBA 07, Resistance and MotorStorm. MotorStorm in apparently awesome (much better than the build in-stores, which I alluded to earlier). Some pics from F1 and MotorStorm (spoiler tagged since they're pretty big): Spoiler F1: MotorStorm: More here: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=124597&page=43 Both look great, although the framerate in F1 needs some work apparently. Also, 2 "PS Arcade" are available: Blast Factor and Cash Guns Chaos. Both are priced at $10 normally, but Blast Factor will be $8 for a limited time. There are free demos available for both too. Then there are trailers for games and movies which aren't really worth mentioning. Impressions from the MS demo: According to ISuppli, Sony is losing $250-$300 on every PS3 (based on their estimates). I can post some specifics later if people actually care about this (probably not). BTW, if you buy COD3, apparently there are already like 4 patches you'll need to download. Good job, Activision/Treyarch!
