GTHD, as a retail product, is canceled. They are releasing it in the form of free concept demos for GT5 on the PSN (some people here have already checked it out). GT5 is still on track for release AFAIK (probably in 2008). Probably sooner since GTHD was canceled (waste of time working on that anyway).
How exactly would you control your primary television? Most PC PVR softwares need a tuner (either PCI or external)?
It uses a USB tuner if that's what your referring to (never done this, so not exactly sure how this should work). It is next to the PS3 in the first pic.
Not reall anything to do with the PS3, at least not yet, but Amazon has Sony's LocationFree base station on sale for $120. For those that don't know, the LocationFree player lets you watch live TV on your PSP or PC anywhere there is a WiFi hotspot. I could easily see Sony implementing the LocationFree player into the PS3 to record TV shows and movies in the future. LocationFree basestation
A nice lengthy interview with Hideo Kojima about various aspects of MGS4 (online, story, gameplay mechnaics, replayablity, etc.), the PS3 (online, Blu-ray, SIXAXIS, no rumble, difficulties with Cell/PS3, 1080p and HD, etc.), and even the Wii, 360 and PC (seems like Kojima would like to work on all those platforms): http://www.gamepro.com/news.cfm?article_id=94010 Spoiler I quoted the entire interview (for the lazy), but put it in spoiler tags since it is pretty long.
This seems like a nice guide: http://ps3hddmod.blogsite.org/ It shows you how to install a 3.5" HDD, as well as some other stuff (expanding the number of USB ports for example).
I've been reading about this "Army of 2" game coming out for PS3 and I'm definitely most excited about this one. Check it out, it looks like a TON of fun, especially if you have a buddy to play with.
Sony stated that when the batteries in the Sixaxis controller die that they will replace them with brand new ones for free. Anyone else think they might not live up to that expectation? I just dont see it happening.
They'll probably make it a big hassle to do so, but I wouldn't doubt it if they did do it. If you include shipping charges and the wait time, most people might prefer to just buy another controller. If I'm not mistaken, FIFA 07 is (next-gen) exclusive to the 360. Not completely sure on that since Microsoft kind of made things as confusing as possible in regards to the next-gen plans for both FIFA and WE/PES. I think EA made it clear that FIFA 07 would not appear on the PS3, although I guess FIFA 08 (or a FIFA game with another name) could be released sometime this year. Basically the same for Konami, although they seem more likely to release a special version for the PS3 (and/or Wii) maybe in the first half of the year based on their previous comments.
