Didn't really want to start a thread on this, but I was very happy with the way Miami performed today. It is still disturbing that they had so many chances inside the FSU 10 yard line and could not score touchdowns. If they could have done better in the red zone, the score of that game is like 35 or 42 to 14. But the defense played great and Miami's special teams always play well. And you got to feel good for Jarret Payton. The kid has been through so much and to see him have a good game was heartwarming (well at least to me, heh). If Miami can get by Virginia Tech on the 1st, I think they have a good chance of reaching the NC game where they will be playing, barring a huge upset, OU. Tennessee is getting their asses handed to them by Georgia (and I am loving every minute of that as that punk Clausen ran his mouth off last year and he is eating his words now) and Pitt couldn't even beat a terrible Notre Dame team today. So, Miami haters;) , if Va Tech doesn't get them on the 1st, you might have to wait again for Miami to lose in the NC game.

As for OU, I don't really care for them, but I respect them and Stoops (after all I think one of his brothers still coaches at Miami as the secondary coach). From what I have seen of them, they look better than the 2000 NC team. Miami has the talent to match up with them, but Berlin has got to get better at being a consistent QB.

    Big surprise...

Don't be surprised when we lose to OSU and/or Tech and maybe another.

The only reason I won't say definitively to fire Mack Brown is that I don't know if the Regents or whoever is responsible for hiring would get someone actually worse.

Regardless, as much as I try to find counter-examples, the team takes on the personality of the coaches.

And forget intensity, heart, luck, or whatever. Reese & Co. aren't very good and Davis & staff aren't very good either.

I don't think ANYONE does less with more. Not Tennessee, not Michigan, NO ONE.

I am not a TTU grad. I attended TTU for 3 years but switched schools to be with my wife.

I enjoy rubbing the salt into UT and aTm when their over-hyped programs fail.

I will resume my OU hating ways now since UT is out of the Big12 picture now

    :)

    don't be a sore loser

    show some class

Yeah, but I admit I'll still cheer for my teams first. It's just a consolation.

You know who OU plays last this year, don't you? ;) We should start laying bets on total points for that game (and maybe total t/o's for Tech).

Was his name John Mize? If so he was our linebacker coach back when I was at Klein Forest.

I'm feeling good about Tech's chances at UT this year, but not so good about them beating OU.

This was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Carl Reese, you my friend are a dumbass worthless piece of **** and need to be terminated immediately.

How do you defeat a short pass quick route offense. You jam the f***** wide receivers moron. Instead you prefer to back off so they can run circles around us, great.

Greg Davis, you are the lowest form of life there is, and you too should be terminated.

The WR screen has brainwashed our WR's. Hell, Roy called it his favorite play before the game. You have a college football jesus at WR in Williams yet you refuse to challenge with him downfield. Take your p***y ass offense off our campus immediately, before I find you in a dark alley and its over.

Mack, you need to go too. You just don't have that swagger and fire that a great coach needs to have. OU gets its swagger from its coaches, Miami, from its players. That's why they are the top two programs currently in college football. Swagger, Fire, Passion.

And Deloss, before you start talking football with the new candidates, ask them in a loud manly voice? Why do you love football son, because anyone who doesn't have that anger, that intensity, that fire, is hereby eliminated from the coaching search.

10-2 ain't good enough, and we might end up 9-3 or gasp, 8-4, but I doubt it. We have too much talent to lose many more games.

10-2 is acceptable at a 2nd tier school, but this is a top 5 job in the country. We as UT fans have a right, an expectation, a demand, a thirst for greatness, and let's face it, Mack, you are merely good.

So with that said, so long, happy trails, and good riddance.

just got back from dallas....so dissapointing...i didnt think we would actually win but at least wanted to put up a fight. I got really angry with our fans still chanting OU sucks because they dont....it doesnt make sense to me to say a team sucks when they are literally kicking our ass year in year out...i just hope mack brown either gets it together or gets out because something has to give....hook em

I believe Chance said it best with:

"They could win a thousand games in a row

    And nothing would change

Like last call on Saturday night,

    OU Sucks! TEXAS FIGHT!!!"

Winning games doesn't make them not suck... :)

I hate to be a jerk, but to the Texas and Tennessee fans who were talking a whole lot of crap about their upcoming games against OK and Georgia:

    Haaaa Haaa!

I just am shocked that OK would beat UT that badly. For a rivalry, that is mighty one-sided. Why can't Texas ever beat Oklahoma? Maybe you Longhorn fans need to face facts that your team is not as good as you think they are. Just because your school gets a great recruiting class seemingly every year, doesn't mean that all of that talent is going to pan out. I would say in my experience, that of a given class, 30-40 percent become minimal contributors, 45-50 percent become at least solid contributors and only 10-20 percent become stars. I would say the Texas percentage for heralded recruits developing into stars is in the 5 percent category and that can be blamed on Mack Brown and the UT staff.

And as for Tennessee/Georgia, I was glad to see Casey Clausen get his just deserts after his stupid assinine statement from last year about how Tennessee would have beaten Georgia by two TD's if he'd have been healthy.

Exactly. Clausen embodies the classic "California Surfer Type Dude". He claims that he never said what he said last year...LOL.

That game could have been a lot worse for Tennessee as Richt pulled the starters midway through the 3rd quarter when the score was 41-7.

Too bad that Texas couldn't get Mark Richt - he is the perfect example of a coach who knows how to win with the talent he has unlike Mack Brown.

Dvauthrin--You know it's alot more than passion. The players were pretty fired up. There are so,so, so many more problems than "attitude" and most Texas fans know that.

OU sucks doesn't just mean their team sucks, it means OU sucks.

We are overrated. It's the same old crap every year.

OK, enough. Congrats to OU for winning. But OU does suck. This is simply the way of the universe.
