It wasn't just Denver, Melo flat out did not include us in the teams he was willing to be traded to.
I know Morey was open to renting him.
But there is a reason some players are superstar, they dictate where they will go.
Great job by Ujiri to fleece NY when everyone knew that was Melo's primary option

Pftt throw Lebron on the Knicks and they would of gotten further.

    or

Then teams also decide who's a legitimate first option or not as well so this thread is meaningless. :(

One day harden will evolve into a scoring machine like others. Hell even kobe and durant stole dirks stepback fadeaway to make themselves harder to guard

Actually his slump has been going on for almost a month ! His ft shooting has been hiding it . Consistency needed

    WOW

Talk about ignorance of what is actually happening.

Over the last month Harden has been shooting 44.2% from the field. This is despite his slump over the past week (29% from the field).

His FT attempts over that period are generally in line with his season average (9.6 to 9.8)

What about Kobe, Tony Parker or even Dwyane Wade.

Morey fully expected Harden to be the sidekick of our future superstar Royce White. Too bad it didn't work out well.:(

James Harden is a 2nd option in a championship team... Hopefully the Rockets can get another star player to help Harden out...

He's been in a slump the last 5 games, but how do you figure he's a 2nd option? He's a top10 player who is poised to be a top5 player and the best SG in the NBA in three years. Unless you have some way of us acquiring one of the only players who'll be better (LBJ, CP3, KD), Harden is a primary option.

Kobe has 5 for 20-something games all the time, but when Harden has a few all of the sudden he's not a #1 option? He's freaking 23 years old, and he's having the best individual season anyone has had in a Houston uniform since Hakeem (or arguably Tmac's first season, but that's debatable).

Losing streak seems to give people rights to start dumb threads.

Lol...well not exactly obviously. But then I try to ignore that thread cos I can kinda guess what I'll find in there. So no harm is done.

Harden seem to have lost all steam. The teams have scouted him. is he exposed?

Where is the rest of your list of number 1 options?

When you're the fifth leading scorer in the league shooting a respectable efficiency you're a #1 option. Or good enough to be one. Just like Wade was, except Shaq made him better / Lebron relegated him to second option.

But Harden needs to develop his game more. More counter-moves to start with. Can't just make up your mind this will be a 3-pt shot or a drive in to draw defense for kick-out or get to the rim to get fouled or put up a shot.

Sometimes, too much of a good thing (purely taking efficient shots) can be a negative thing. You just become too predictable.
