Hate List: 1) Mavs as a team (private jets, locker room with PS2, and all) 2) Mavs as a logo/name/etc (wtf is a mav) 3) Dirk (because he got picked as this years WNBA mvp) 4) Cuban (because he looks like a pet monkey) 5) Terry (because he's a prick) 6) Jackhouse (looks like those ducks from mario bros) 7) Dallas the city (full of a-holes) 8) Dallas Fans (they all smell like ****) 9) Dallas Cowboys (another team in dallas) 10) I-45 (it goes thru dallas and I rather take the feeder)
The I-45 part was pretty funny. I hate to say it, but the Mavs will win it all this year. They beat the Spurs who in my opinion was the best team in the playoffs this year. If Amare was healthy or if Shaq was 5 years younger I'd say they get beaten down the road. To see Cuban and Dirk win the Big One is a nightmare come true!
Don't forget the Mavericks' equivalent of Clutchfans: http://www.mavtalk.com Full of gutter-spewing morons. And the site is ugly too.
i voted no because the thought of a mavericks championship makes me shudder. i have to go to dallas a couple of times this summer. the thought of seeing championship signs and tshirts there makes me throw up a little bit in my mouth.
I'm going to be in Chicago all summer and will try to make it to Detroit to catch a Pistons/Mavericks game just so I can boo the Mavs! Anyone know the best way to get from Chicago to Detroit (plane, train, etc.)?
most definately fictional garbage but stil fun to read http://www.nypost.com/seven/05052006/gossip/pagesix/pagesix.htm
the mavs is a deep team. dont know why everyone hates them... other than the reason that is the first round of last years playoffs i personally was rooting for them to beat the spurs and manu flopnobli
Maybe everyone will get off of tim duncans c*ck now. I'm getting really sick of his whining. And the look on Popavichs face after the game was priceless. Dallas has gotten better, im not a fan. I would rather the championship come to someone in Texas than anywhere else tho. With all 3 Texas teams in the Playoffs (next year) that will be much more exciting than the finals (unless houston is in it).
One thing I'm loving about them losing and losing the way they did is that I've had no less than 5 people tell me how right I've been about Tim Duncan for all these years. He's always been a whiny b****. The vast majority of people are just now noticing.
Despite the occasional good remark I hear concerning anyone in the Mavs organization -- for example, hearing Rockets radio voices Gene Peterson and Jim Foley refer to Avery Johnson as a really nice and/or classy guy -- I have a visceral, negative reaction to the Mavericks whenever I see them... be it Cuban, Nowitzki, Terry, Howard, or even the towel boy. They all come off as insufferably arrogant in TV and pictures, and more than a little mean-spirited to boot. That being said, I've never met any of them... and I could be letting my pre-existing hatred of Dallas color my perceptions. I don't think so, though. Go Suns.
I don't like the Mavs in the sense that I don't like how the Rockets have performed against them the last couple of years. Watching Mark Cuban warp the refereeing of the 2005 first round series was galling, particuarly in light of JVG's $100K fine later on in the series. But I don't HATE the Mavs. The closest I might have came to true dislike of a team would have to be the Malone/Stockton Jazz. Karl Malone was renown for his flying jumpkick fadeaway to the crotch, and he was one of the reasons why Magic couldn't come back early when he was diagnosed with HIV (his commentary about not wanting to be on the court with Magic also lead to the rule removing players from the court if they are bleeding). Stockton was one of the most underated dirty players in the leauge. Then mix in the fact they would knock the Rockets out the playoffs periodically, and you have the makings of true antipathy towards a team. Houston-Utah matchups like an old Oilers/Cowboys game...The Mavs/Rockets games aren't even close to that level of intensity(yet?).
If Duncan is a whiny b*tch then that makes Mark Cuban the mother of all whiny b*tches. I'm willing to bet with his crusade for bettering refereeing that he probably shows the league front office primarily videos of Dallas getting bad calls. I'm sure that plays a big part in the officiating. Refs see maverick videos over and over again and it gets programmed into their heads. Of course I have no substantiated evidence of this but hey I can throw out a conspiracy theory out every now and then can't I? Dallas has a very good chance now of winning the championships. They are a scary team. I think last year's rockets would have an even tougher time with this year's Dallas squad
I miss classy Adrian Dantley, Rolando Blackman, and Derek Harper. I hate the mavericks because they grab each other in the nut5: <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/wUHIfOicCbU"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/wUHIfOicCbU" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> this one replays it and then SLOWED MOTION: <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/gLV3a4CgYLE"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/gLV3a4CgYLE" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
As much as I hate the Mavs I am rooting for them to win it all. Earlier this year one of my best friend's mother was killed by a drunk driver and he is a huge mavs fan. After having to take part in his ups and downs and believe me it has been a nightmare, he needs some happiness. I feel like I am betraying the Rox but I guess that family/friends come first so as much as it pains me to say...Go Mavs!!!
