schwa: "Stock is everything that is RIGHT with pro sports. He doesn't demand insane contracts, he's loyal to his team and fans, he doesn't take time off with stupid little "injuries" like headaches *cough*." My dear little upside down "e," even though you are a Jazzhole, I would never wish upon you the suffering that comes from a truly debilitating migraine headache. Francis played many times last year with headaches, even when they were so severe they affected his vision and made him dizzy. He only missed games when the headaches were so severe he was naseous and had vertigo so severe he couldn't stand. Meniere's is a very serious medical condition that can lead to death if left untreated. As for Stockton, I admire his basketball IQ and his work ethic. It's just such a shame that his otherwise stellar career has been marred by all that pouting and whining and all those cheap shots and grabbing and flopping. Otherwise, you are completely right. He's loyal and tough and one of the most brilliant passers of his era. I don't hate him, just Karl "The b*stard" Malone . MC Welk: "But MVPs do need to travel, errr, dream-shake … Right?" No. Get a better VCR that can do slow motion and watch. I'm sure Hakeem traveled on occasion, as all basketball players do, but he had the best footwork of any big man in NBA history. Hakeem had traveling called on him more times than he should have because the officials couldn't believe he could do some of the things he did without traveling. But usually, he did. P.S. Chicago 113, Utah 98 -- Donyell Marshall (Chi) had 17 points and 11 rebounds. Yahoo! Even as one of the worst teams in the league, the Bulls still torture the Jazz, with Marshall, an ex-Jazzhole, doing most of the damage!
I don't hate the Utah Jazz. In fact I admire watching them because of their sound fundamentals. I wish the present Rockets team were as discipline and sound fundamentally as the Utah Jazz. I enjoy watching the Rockets beat them nonetheless.
I must de-lurk long enough to proclaim my undying hatred for the Utah Jazz. The only good thing to come out of Salt Lake City is Frank Laydon, a funny guy who got stuck with a bunch of flopping thugs. I remember once when Kenny Smith drove the lane, and Malone flopped to the floor, drawing the charge. Smith knocking down Malone?!?!? Say what you will about the Mailwoman, but he ain't small. That's what makes his flopping routine even more intolerable. And don't get me started with Stockton's elbows.... And not starting the clock during a PLAYOFF game is worse than inexcusable...it's borderline <B>criminal</B>. There should have been an investigation into that... I Hate The Jazz !
Wow. Cool first post . However, I still think that that shot and rape post and my quote of it has to be deleted.
boomboom: "That is a GREAT website!" Boomer, it's very obviously a work in progress, so I welcome comments. I also need to figure out why the movie doesn't play... P.S. I don't normally hate. It's counterproductive and leads to more hate. Just look at the Middle East! It is better to try to understand other people, not hate them. In this case, though, I understand Karl Malone -- <b>that's why I hate him</b>!
It's been a long time since I posted. My love of the Rockets has not decreased, although my time to write about it has. Likewise, my hatred of the Jazz continues with a fervor that is almost religious... And speaking of religion: people, I AM a Mormon, I have family in Utah, and I STILL hate the Jazz! Don't lump all Mormons (or even all Utah-ins, or Utah-ites, or whatever the heck they are called) with the brand of dirty ball that Sloan has been espousing for his entire career. There are some there who know them for what they truly are! That said...in all honesty, if they were dirty, whiny babies who also happened to lose a lot, I'd probably hate them a lot less. I'm man enough to admit that much of my professed hatred comes from their extraordinary success against my beloved team (particularly in recent years), and the apparent agelessness of their two biggest stars. There's probably some jealousy mingled in my hatred...somewhere. And of course, I hated Charles Barkley for a lot of years too -- amazing how my opinion changed when he joined the Rockets. To a lesser degree, the same held true with Antoine Carr. Hate and love are fickle things sometimes. OK, off the internet soapbox. I HATE THE JAZZ! I HATE THE JAZZ! I HATE THE JAZZ! Phew! It is kinda therapeutic...
In response to an earlier request... http://www.makingpages.org/hoops/jazzholes.html This is a very early beta. Soon I'll finish the Top Ten Reasons to Hate the Jazz section, add a couple photos, and add instructions for joining the "I Hate the Jazz" fan club. Suggestions welcome.
In honor of the greatest thread off all-time...we need to pay one last visit to this gem. Thanks Clutch for giving all of us Rockets fans (and Jazz haters) a forum for expressing this type of group hatred for the flopping-est basketball team of all time.
It's pretty sad that the pinnacle of my pathetic existence is this thread... 15 minutes of fame, and I've wasted them all on an internet message board.
I went to the Jazz/ blazers game on wednesday expecting some good old fun. Portland doesn't show up and I have to listen to Utahn's talk about making the playoffs this year and how country boy Sloan is the best coach ever. He did coach some amzing floppers and complainers though.
Outstanding thread. Props to all who contributed. I'm basically working on converting my new co-worker to the Rox, and I just found the final piece to the puzzle. He's going to love this... I HATE THE JAZZ!! Rings true no matter the time of year!
I don't hate the Jazz anymore because every ounce of hatred that I have in my body is used up on the fakers. Karla was a big reason for my dislike of the Jazzholes and now he is in la. I don't believe it is ok to hate but I can't help it when it comes to the arrogant selfish attention seekers on there team and all the hollywood star fans who have all the answers in life and are going to save the world.
Truly pathetic. I was going to ask if Rocket fans had nothing better to do than bash the Jazz, but seeing has they haven't made the playoffs in what, 4 years now, I think they really don't have anything better to do. By the way, how's Eddie Griffin doing? I remember hearing about how he was sooooooooo much better than Kirilenko, but I didn't see him do much in last night's game. Maybe the pressure of playing for/with a bunch of a-holes got to him and he started beating up everyone in sight.
I have a web page called "Karl Malone is a Menace" http://www.makingpages.org/hoops/Malone.danger.html I got some interesting mail from that one -- you know the type: "THE ROCKETS SUCK AND SO DO YOU!!!!" I used to send back very polite replies telling them how much I would enjoy their torment once Flopton and Karla were gone and they were in the lotto. I'm going to enjoy watching them lose this year!
Lets see: 4 years, blah, blah, blah. Eddie Griffin, blah, blah, blah. The Jazz suck so bad their one star player left bolted because he knew the only championships coming to SLC left after the last Olympics. The Jazzholes will be lucky to sniff a wild card spot in the next 4 years. Oh, and your "premiere" vet Osterfat (thanks Clutch), well, nevermind.... Thanks for keeping the thread alive! (BTW, How many Championships have the Jazz won?)
Its going to be a long season for Jazz fans. No playoffs for them haha...although I am amazed at what Sloan can get out of a bunch of guys who just work hard as a team.
