I'm back, this trade works. Successful Trade Scenario Congratulations on a successful trade. Due to Houston and L.A. Clippers being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston and L.A. Clippers had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Word. If we keep the core of T-Mac, Yao, Brooks, Lowry, Artest, Battier, Scola, Landry, and Hayes, I'll still be psyched for next season. However, I think we need to get rid of the dead weight of Brian Cook. Brent Barry, Von Wafer, and Dorsey are also expendable IMO, but personally, I think Morey has more in mind then just getting rid of the dead weight.
hi back, I'm shroop (terrible. like artest's shot selection) I'd only not trade anyone if I believed in the improvement of the younger players like Brooks and Lowry, Landry and Wafer (Scola's peaked imo). Except for Wafer, all of those guys are UNDERSIZED pieces. I dont quite believe in them well enough to put full faith in. From this past decisive game 7, which is the case in most decisive games, skills didnt beat size. Gotta get some of that from somewhere. And it will probably take more than getting rid of a 15th guy or Brian Cook to do that. I fully expect at LEAST 1 rotation player to not be in the Rockets mix next year.
We need to resign Artest. We will definitely have better volume shooters next season. When Artest doesn't have to be our #1 option, we are deadly.
Isn't it funny how at the beginning of the year the question was would the Rockets resign the Ron? Now it's will the Ron sign with the Rockets.
Trade whomever you need to Morey, to make this team better. Don't let the fans love for players have any affect on your decision making. You can not score 70 points in a playoff game and expect to win, this team has holes in it...health wise, as well as skills wise. Fix em. DD
Esp with 30+ million dollars worth of players on crutches see what I did there. . .. I can throw players under a bus to excuse stuff too Rocket River . .no . .wait. . i didn't throw anyone under a bus and just told the truth
first we arent getting nash for brooks unless we give up some other pieces. i think we hang onto brooks. brings to mind tony parker and kidd trade. duncan wantd to stick with parker. that was da rite move.
I think Tmac works hard and tries to get back to his level of play to get another good contract at $8 to $10 mln per year. Dude has serious overhead. I agree that Ron and Tmac cannot co-exist. However, Tmac will not be available until February. That's why I believe a Tmac and Barry for Baron Davis, Camby, and De Andre Jordan will work for us.
