I'm just wondering if the next game at barcelona is a 1-1 draw, will benefica go through or what? Barca can't waste as many opportunities as they did today for the next game. They should be down 1-0, that's considering that fica get the penalty and convert. Is it me or does Tommy Smythe think everything is a handball??
Yes, Benfica go through with a draw or victory due to away goals, the only exception is a 0-0 draw, which would mean extra time.
I saw it. Just got back (had to go to a pub because of stupid setanta sports). Juve were almost a zero threat to score. It should have been 3 or 4 to zero. Juve were completely frustrated toward the end - both Zebina and Camoranesi's second yellows were so obviously late in tackle that it wasn't even close to a play on the ball. So those two and Viera are going to be out for the return leg, but as an Arsenal supporter I wouldn't be broken up if all three played next leg. They were terrible especially our dear Patrick, who was almost invisible for most of the game. Nedved and Del Piero should be back for the next leg, but we beat them 3-1 last time they were in the team, so I think not only is this a great result for Arsenal but we should go through from here. We'll definitely score in Turin so Juve has a HUGE hump to overcome.
And that's exactly what needs to be done! 1 goal in turin, and Juve will be needing to score 4. Can't complain that Barca drew, puts them in danger of dropping out if the return is a draw (not 0-0). One less danger club I say.. buggers cost me a huge bet too..
Milan-Lyon 1-1 Villareal-Inter 0-0 Diarra is a brilliant CM. Man United have been linked with him for a while, Essien got credit for alot for the work Diarra did in midfield last year, and he's continued to shine without Essien this year. I wonder what Lyon will be asking for him this summer?
Wow, Milan just scored in the 88th minute to likely seal their spot in the semis. It also looks like Villareal is set to knock off Inter.
I feel bad for Lyon even though I was hoping for AC Milan to win. They were minutes away from moving on an then completely chocked. AC Milan has too many weapons though.
I saw your post from yesterday and thought it was a final and was crestfallen - but was pleasantly surprised today.
Barca look set to go through to the final after beating Milan 1-0 at the San Siro today. Arsenal-Villareal will be televised live tomorrow on ESPN2. I'll follow Fergie's lead and wish Diego Forlan good luck, get a goal at Highbury!
Villarreal's site lists his country as Argentina but his nationality as "argentino-mexicana". Isn't he one of the naturalized players that is supposed to go to the World Cup for Mexico?
