I'm not saying he is a building block, but you put some plus defenders around him and he could be a good 2nd best on a team.
Pffft. Tate isn't going to demand a max contact and unlike wood is willing to play defense. Hell I saw him guarding woods big man cause wood was being too much of a pu$$y. If he wood wants a max contact, he should be looking for somewhere else
Success rate, W-L record and shot attempts numbers don't lie. Sometimes our eyes do play tricks on us and we humans tend to become emotional over certain things.
Curious to see this too next season. But with Garuba at 5, Chet 4 and Wood at 3. Sengun should be 6th man until he gets his 3P% to 35%. That spacing should be fierce and much more switchable on defense.
Wood does not deserve max contact. Try convincing any competent franchise that we should max contract a big man that plays like a number one option, and led his team to a 19-49 record. Refuses to set proper picks, guard opposing big men and like to camp out at the 3 pt line. Oh and his ft percentage is dogsht. We know u like big men, but wood is not someone u want to max.
I go back and forth on a lot of things with the team, but one thing that I know I don’t want to see next year is Tate in the starting lineup. He should be an energy player off the bench and if his shot is falling on any given night that’d just be a bonus.
Never said I wanted to max Wood. But the FO believes he is a building block so need to figure out how to maximize him. Rockets organization, unlike the fans, cannot afford to be emotional about this decision.
