Steve wasn't supposed to be the #1 or #2 option the last time he was here...he made himself the #1 option. He had other higher percentage shooters with him...but he chose to take the ball himself.

Just because you want Steve to change won't change Steve...Steve is Steve...he'll fog up bad shots, turn the ball over, and dribble the air out of it...everyone will be voting him off the island before we get to the all-star break.

Learn from the catastophe that is the Knicks....don't repeat them.

The job of the PG is to distribute the ball to the scoring options and keep it away from the other team.

I'm not defending Rafer...I'm just saying Steve sounds very similar to all Rafer's flaws.

    Bizarre Stat:

Rafer averaged more points last season that John Stockton did in his 19 year career.

When Francis was here he WAS just about the blasted team.... thats why it sucked. He doesn't have to do that now. If he is only half as good now as he was back then, that would still be 5X as better as any of the guards not named T-Mac now on the roster.

If the Knicks by out his contract, we should bring him back as the backup 1. He would play the last 6 minutes of the game because he can still drive the lane & make a layup.

You got stats to back that up?

I hate it when ppl talk smack, but can't back it up at all.

At best, the stats show that Mike James comes close to SF's numbers if he ever averaged more than 30 minutes per game for a few consecutive seasons. For some reason he usually never averages more than that except for a few seasons. Maybe the coaches see something we don't?

Also, Mike James is in the middle of a four year contract. We'd have to trade for him, whereas we can get Francis for the MLE or the vet minimum.

Imagine Mcgrady joins the Rockets with only Mobley and Cato traded away.
Steve Francis stays on the Rockets. And Yao's still on the Rockets and developing how he did...
So thats McGrady/Yao/Francis still on the team...

Then trade Francis for RAFER ALSTON (in a Mike James type move). For the "true" point guard he is to run the team...  How many of you would REALLY have wanted that?

Bring back Francis if he's affordable. Get it done DM the GM

    PG: Alston
    SG: Francis
    SF: TMAC
PF: Battier - we can trade battier for a better PF
    C: Yao

Francis is really a SG so now that we have a decent PG.. francis doesnt have to be a PG.

I don't think Francis needs us fans to ask to bring him back, he claims that he built Toyotal Center and if that is true then coming back to Houston should be a piece of ckae for someone his stature.

So let me get this straight: You people now like Stevie Franchise and want him back? The same Stevie who was shipped out of town on a rail to the tune of "Don't let the door hit you where the good Lord split you". That Stevie Francis??? Unbelievable! What's next, bring back Moochie Norris? Mo Williams? Kelvin Cato? Slick Watts? I realize that desperate times may call for desperate measures but things can't be that desperate around here, can it?

He will be great coming out of the bench. So it will be definitely an upgrade. Also, we can get him on the cheap.

I vote no but a lineup of

    Alston/Spanoulis/JL3
    Francis/Head/Snyder
    T-Mac/Battier/Snyder
    Battier/new 4/Hayes/Novak
    Yao/Jake

That is 13 2 more spots to fill

    Firm rotation

    Alston
    Francis
    T-Mac
    Battier
    Yao

    Bench

    Span
    new 4 or Hayes
    Jake
    Head

Snyder and Novak get looks when matchups present themselves

ie. Suns Golden State so Novak can spread the floor
big 2s for Snyder to gaurd

STEVE FRANCIS SHOULD NOT RUN POINT EVER!!!!!!!
