Stevie has been slumping ever since he left. If he comes back, I think he can pick up the pieces and fix our franchise! We can't afford Cat, and we don't need help in the SG area.
There are two examples you can use as reference when evaluating Steve: C. Webber in 76er v.s. in Piston Eddie Jones in Memphis v.s. in Heat.
only if he promises to not dribble the leather off the ball this time! no seriosly, he can create and i'd love to see him back. he was a good soldier for us, warts and all. BRING BACK THE FRANCHISE
He doesn't need to do the dribbling. That's Rafer's job, and he's not too bad at it. Steve would be in there solely for the scoring aspect, and as soon as he racks up his 10-15 pts a night, Rafer comes back in to finish the job.
Eh, I forogt the code I used the last time to create the tables. Besides, it was so much more work than simple copy and paste. If you would like to format it, feel free.
Francis could only be brought back onto the Rockets team if he has changed all the bad habbits which he had in his previous stint here.
That's why he would be the backup. We would only need him for a brief offense spark here and there. Oh yeah, and to lead the team. We need a leader.
With the rumors of J.O'neal wanting to be traded to New York, the Knicks can use Steve's contract plus another contract to get him or someone else, if those other teams are willing to take him.
Did you guys just start watching the Rockets last Saturday? Do you remember who Steve Francis is? In his prime...Worst TO to asst. ratio in the league...a very low 30's percent 3pt shooter...very weak defense...too small to cover the big PG and SG's? Aren't these all the things you gripe about Rafer? Why would you want two Rafers? We need help....but Steve is NOT it.
I didn't mean that he started slumping immediately. I meant to say that ever since he left Houston, he's gotten progressively worse. In Orlando, he was good, but not as good as he was, and they ended up trading him. Now in New York, he's pretty much MIA because the coach hates him. My point in all of this is to say that he needs to come back to Houston, where he played his best years, and it could be a rebirth for him as well as for us.
Ofr course on two bad knees Stevie brings more than Mr. Mild Mannered Rafer. Of course Rafer is more of a pure point guard than Stevie, albeit one who has T Mac do all the ball handling, defending and shooting when the game is on the line.
Steve won't be the Rockets #1 or even #2 offensive option, that will change the nature of his game. He won't be relied on the score as much and from it his turnovers will lower.
