What was the whole Dwight "hooker" thing? Early in the episode, he was talking to a female co-worker that it seemed like he was into. Is there some history to this? I just started watching so... . Also, it seems obvious that Jim will come back to work for his old boss and hook up with Pam? The cartoon date was kind of funny. I have to admit that I didn't really get into Steve Carell that much early in his career but I'm really impressed with him on this show and how he does his character. He was made for this role.
It wasn't a hooker. Jim didn't see her face and just assumed it was a hooker. It was Dwight's office girlfriend, Angela.
Nah, i took it as him never actually caring to notice her before, kind of in his own world, I've know a few people at work like that
OMG...I lauged my arse off... "Just order the most expensive item on the menu"... "Yeah, but you'll have to put out" I love this show...It is so quotable, its not even funny...
The Convention episode rocked the house, and was much better then the season premier. Loved the whole thing. It's just a joke playing into Creed's character of being forgetful. Remember that classic line in the season 2 episode after the Booze Cruise when Kevin went to Creed and said, "Have you heard... Jim's got it baaaad for Pam." Creed, "Ohh really.... which one's Pam?" I've seen both and I also thought that the British version blew away the American one during the first season. After the second season though I think they're running neck and neck.
Creed is a 60's burnout. He did so many drugs back in those days that he has memory problems. He's basically a coherent version of Reverend Jim from Taxi.
Its called Closed Caption. My girl also has a problem understanding some english accents, just put on CC and you'll be fine.
Creed is awesome! My favorite Creed moment is last season, when everyone was saying what they hated about their co-workers. "Creed Has a distinct Old Man Smell" . . . "I know exactly what he's talking about. I sprout mung beans on a damp paper towel in my desk. Very nutritous, but they smell like death."
The best part was when Michael told Pam Jim was going to be at the convention and if she wanted to relay any message. She responds with an 'UM' and Michael tells Dwight to memo that and then they both march out of the office singing and dancing UM UM UMM UM UMM Hilarious One of the better episodes yet
The US Verison really hit it's stride in the 2nd season and from the looks of it the 3rd season is just getting better and better
Well this episode wasn't quite as funny as the season premier, but it is probably closer in tone to a typical The Office episode, with quieter, more subtle moments. I wouldn't expect this ep to end up a classic, but it's utterly watchable and will surely be endlessly quoted like all of them. Every time I think about the "Ain't no party like a Scranton Party" bit, I fall to the floor. And the "maybe you should estimate me" is now officially the default respone to "I underestimated you". And I don't know about anyone else, but I love the Dwight and Angela storyline (aka D. and Monkey). They're hilarious and surprisingly very sweet together. And Stanley, Phylis, Creed, Toby and Kevin all had their moments (Although I really hope they don't pursue Toby going after Pam. As a one shot deal it was hilarious, but any more than that seems a bit tired). The development of the background characters is the biggest thing that separates the US office from the british one. So I look forward to them continuing to delve deeper into everyone in the office. Other tidbits: Kelly must be an absolute freak in bed for Ryan to put up with her. Either that or have no spine whatsoever. Michael once again shows that he's actually a good salesman, which is probably why they keep him around. Good to see Michael stay hip by updating his ringer from "Mambo No. 5" to "My Humps." (Black Eyed Crows) Classy. That Bettis cameo was pretty good. And in this espn article The Bus said that people really do invite him to go to random parties, so that was a nice touch. Angela's got some pretty nice legs. And more good news for Michael. By the time he and Pam are ready to bring a life into the world in 2036, his condo will be finally paid off. And that "I'm not sure if I even want a baby in 8 months" was delightfully subtle and ironic. "God I hope that's urine."
Humble Members of clutchfans... I give you every episode of both the British and American versions of the office..... There's a couple of spaces in the link that need to be filled in. http://www. theoffice. urfbownd.net/
No, no, no...I refuse to watch the almighty British version. I don't want to compare. I'm quite happy with what Steve Carrell and Company are doing and don't want to taint that joy. But thanks for the link anyway.
