someone could have some fun with this.. http://www.jellostapler.com/dwight-schrute-soundboard.html if you do record a prank call...please do link it for us (not that i condone that sort of stuff) =P
No, that was an abomination of television. I love Scrubs but I really really hate musicals...especially when they do them on sitcoms. I had to stop watching about 5 minutes in. By the way, what was wrong with the girl? 30 Rock seems to get better every week.
well, whatever it was, i was just reading some article on zap2it saying scrubs was getting prepped for a 7th season and that the fun they had doing this episode was a reason they might end up doing one more season. that alone makes it great. now if braff will just agree to do it everything would be set (scrubs isn't scrubs without j.d.). guess you should've watched. now you'll have to spend 3 seconds googling it, so ha! and the less of tracy jordan they show, or the more toned down tracy jordan is, the better 30 rock is. they've been getting better at that lately. unfortunately, the ratings still suck so it may not be around to enjoy much longer (though with baldwin winning the golden globe, maybe that'll help keep it going).
I agree completely. I almost busted a gut throughout the entire song. <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/GF6rSGfUdyg"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/GF6rSGfUdyg" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
Hmm. I don't know what to think about this episode. The whole psycho-Andy subplot had a weird vibe to it. Especially early in the show (Though I got to admit the prank was pretty great). And I feel like they've killed off any future for his character in the past two episodes. Not to mention that they pulled back from the possibility of Angela raining down sweet vengeance on Andy's head. I was really looking forward to that. I sincerely hope the writers halt this softening up of her character. That would suck. Angela needs to stay the harsh, judgmental b**** that we've come to know and love. And Michael has been totally off-kilter the past two weeks. He's been quiet and withdrawn and barely offensive at all. I understand that they've used him as a foil for Andy, but let's face it, Michael is at his best when he's horrifying someone else, not the other way around (though the part where he's hiding behind his door is sheer genius). As for the stuff I did like: The prank and michael hiding like I mentioned above. Kevin's "gaycation" joke. Not because it was funny or anything, but because he was so pleased with himself for thinking it up, and the fact that Oscar took it in stride and had fun with him. When Michael goes to staples, the whole scene had a whole "Officer and a Gentleman" vibe. I thought that was a nice touch. And there were some other good lines, that I can't think of off the top of my head. All in all, I'd say it's a mixed-bag. But that's okay, they can't all be perfect. And maybe I'll change my mind once I see the producer's cut. Yeah, producer's cut. If you go to NBC.com in about 10 minutes, they'll be streaming a longer producer's cut of the episode on their website, just like they did with the Branch Closing episode. Check it out.
I thought they overdid the Andy time in this episode. It's much better when they show a random shot of him freaking out like the Counter Strike scene where he claims he is going to kill Jim, or when he kicks that garbage can aside. This was just awkward for everyone. Best part of the episode was Ryan's spelling of the Mexican lemonade.
I think that's what they were going for. There was a musak version of Up Where We Belong being played over the Staples sound system during the scene.
As much as I love this show, I thought this was the worst episode of the season. And I'm already dreading the JAM reunion.
producer's cut gives a hint that andy may not even be in the show the rest of the season. It's questionable, I guess. (Or maybe I just missed the end of the regular ep on TV and they actually showed it there, too?) There's also a pretty hilarious joke w/michael leaving his top down in bad weather and having to deal w/it.. atl east I thought it was funny
The producer's cut also has a couple of absolutely hilarious lines from Creed and Kelly. And this version fleshed out Michael's motivations a lot more, so his behavior is much less disjointed. There were also more jokes/scenes to balance out the Andy nuttiness. All in all, I enjoyed the extended much more than the broadcast episode.
NBC was so excited about the Scrubs musical I think they skipped the last minute of the office they normally show with credits after the 3rd ad break (hence Andy in anger management only made the producer's cut).
Very good episode...my favs... "Gheycation"...I thought about that 2 minutes after you left... We're going to celebrate your Mexicaness, Mexicanity...Why don't i just ride a donkey...Ah, a burro.. The thing about Jim still having feelings, I think is too soon as was Dwights return...It all seems like its coming to an end, but I don't know how many more new eps are left...
And the way he put down his phone without moving his head or body was classic. Also last week in the traveling salesman episode, he also made a hilarious look the moment that he sees Karen after her beauty salon trip. You can only see it for a split second because the camera cuts away so quick, but you can clearly see his eyes bugging out. His reaction shots are some of the best parts of the show.
