The first episode of Office I saw was the one where Dwight gets a concussion. I must admit, I wasn't all that into it. Then I went out and "obtained" the DVD-R's of Season 1 and got hooked. Once I caught up to the second season, It became my second favorite show. Dwight is God. I have also always wanted Todd Packer to become demoted for sexual harrassment or something and then has to go to the Scranton branch for good. Imagine that.
*SPOILERS* ok, watched the season premiere last night...It was pretty good, but not great...Jim at another location, called Tuna...Pam not getting married...Michael and Dwight searching the internet for "Gaydar"...Sharper Image just sold out...LMFAO... Angela with the Purell and the drunk lady eating it...lol...Michael hugging and kissing Oscar...Oscar getting 3 months vacation and co. car, priceless...
I'm probably in the minority here, but I'm hoping Jim decides to move back to Scranton and gets killed in a car crash on the way. The love story between he and Pam is killing this show. Any of you who don't agree with me must be gay like Oscar. I get tired of watching Jim mug for the camera. It's almost out of control. I can't believe nobody mentioned Pam's ex. Now he's turning all Jim on us. My favorite line of the night: "Gay p*rn. Straight p*rn. It's all goooooood."
IMO this show wouldn't last if Jim left. Some of the funniest moments on the show are when Jim and Pam pull pranks on Michael and Dwight. The best bit from last night was Jim sending the Gaydar to Dwight.
the episode was absolutely hilarious. On-par w/the best for (like someone else said) the first 3/4. It took a hit at the end. But you definitely had to have watched it a few times before at least for it to be funny...which sucks. Just because it's hard to pick up more fans that way.
The Jim/Pam storyline is one of biggest hooks of the show. The last few minutes of "Casino Night" were heartbreaking. If they did away with that subplot, you can kiss half the audience goodbye.
Thought it was pretty funny. Laughed out loud a few times. Not amazing, but it was good enough... Gaydar
By "half the audience" you mean women, right? I think it's time for you to go wash your panties now. Why can't us men have a show we can enjoy every now and then? I'm one of the biggest supporters of The Office, I just don't want to see them Jump The Shark.
Yea I'm not that big a fan of that stuff either but you have to realize how hard it is to consistently come up with funny episodes without a central plot. Seinfeld is probably the only show to ever pull that off, which is why in my mind its the greatest sitcom in history.
The funniest parts were: (1) Dwight doing the drop kick when Oscar pushed Dwight's girlfriend to the side and (2) Dwight trying to kiss Oscar right after Michael did it.
Now that you're on board and have already caught the first show of this season there is no reason for you to miss the rest. There's pleny of room on Dwight's Party Train.
So I take it the ending of the "Christmas Special" of the BBC version of The Office did nothing for you? If the resolution of the Jim/Pam storyline can be half as effective as that scene, then it'll be worth the time spent on it.
Man, me too. That kiss scene was beyond horrifying and scary and hilarious. Some classic moments: "I'll check Brookstone." "I can picture her with another woman, can't you?" When that guy was talking about all the sex he had in the 60's and how a man could've "slipped in there." Awesome.
this brings me back to that hope that, one day, NBC can afford to buy Arrested Development and have it go on right after The Office. if only *sigh*
i had something close to that last night. by the time i got to watch office on DVR, it was about 10. it ended...i turned on G4 and watched the rerun of AD.
they could have spinoff shows of so many characters from Arrested Development. Gob. Tobias. Buster. Anyang. Analrapist...hahah omg...Tobias Funke, how you slay me.
What if Gob, Tobias, and Buster were the other co-workers at Jim's new job? That may be the greatest show ever.
