It was stunningly bad. You can tell Carrell is mailing these last episodes in. No wonder he's leaving.
Don't think it has much ot do with Carrell. The writing is just horrible. I've never seen a comedy take a dive like this.
It was an OK episode, definitely could have been better. But, as in typical fashion on ClutchFans, just like after a Rockets loss when we talk about how horrible Scola is, or how overrated Brooks is, or that Battier is the worst NBA player in the league, it was the "most awful, worst show ever and The Office has slid farther down than any comedy in the history of television." Ah, I'm going to miss the over-reactions on this board some day. Anyway, loved the David Wallace cameo, Ryan's "Woof," Toby's novel, and the dog howling after "Speak." But I'm sure I'm in the minority. A bit of a letdown, though, for a finale. I'd be happy with one more season- not that I'm tired of the show, but I think 7 is a nice end to a great show.
I think The Office sadly is held to a higher standard because it really brought back the Sitcom in a big way, and it was just fresh and smart and hysterical... they couldn't keep it going the way it was, and thats nothing to really be that upset about... it had a good run and we'll always have the earlier episodes floating around the various TV networks in syndication.
it has nothing to do with overreactions. the episodes from the first few season i can watch every day. but crap like this i deleted off of the dvr as soon as i was done.
What was your reaction the first time you watched The Office? Like, your very first reaction after watching the first 1, 2 episodes? I can tell you what mine was: "This show is not very good- I don't get it." Same with The Office UK. Same with Arrested Development. Now, you gotta admit that this board isn't exactly known for being impartial and not rushing to judgment on stuff- like I said, it's hilarious to look back on game threads and read about how much our players suck. But, to each his/her own. Seasons 1-4 were great- Season 5 was mostly great, and Season 6 was partially great. I can definitely see some cracks (and I'm defending Season 4 to the death- I rank it exactly the same as 3, and I've watched them at least 6-7 times each- yes, I don't have a life). But I'll reserve the "horrible" judgment after I buy/rent the DVD- that being said, always respect your opinions, 03 and Moe's- I'm probably too much of an apologist for this show, just like I am with the Rockets- I'm Jerome Solomon's worst nightmare. They should always make season finales 1 hour long. People expect more out of a finale, and 23 minutes just ain't enough.
Honestly, I had no idea this was the season finale till I read it over here right now. To each their own of course. I personally don't find it remotely funny anymore. The writers have had no direction the last few years. The whole co-mngr thing was stupid. I don't think Pam's character was relevant for five sec this entire year. I think pretty much every message board in the world is prone to overreactions.
HORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIBLE SHOW NOW get that sabre nerd off my tv. he's not funny kathy bates...she's not funny everything is forced...
I thought the IT guy's speech was funny. Dwight, who has been consistent this season, was given nothing to work with.
What the hell was that?! That episode would have been OK if it was a mid season one but this is the finale! The finale you need to bring your A game and they seriously brought their C game much like the lineup you would find at Legends Cabaret on a Tuesday at 3 pm. And like everyone else said...it should definately be an hour long
I'll put it this way... I started cleaning my apartment in the middle of this episode. Can't believe it was a finale.
