So Jim couldn't go home during lunch to change clothes? Or slip out unnoticed before meeting the new boss and have Pam tell people he had to visit a client or had an emergency at home...something. But nope, he kept opening his mouth and kept making things worse.
It was certainly interesting and unexpected. Given how much of a farce they've made him lately, Michael standing up for himself was refreshing. And did anyone else think "damn Stringer Bell's gone into paper now "
i imagine there will be some kind of shake up in management to allow his resignation to be forgotten. or there will be a merger of branches or some other contrievance to allow him to remain on the show. that said, the BBC series did end with the manager out of the company. btw, the christmas special (of the bbs series) to wrap up the show was hilarious.
Because his branch outsold the others (which is why he was doing that tour with Pam). No matter how idiotic he is, it's all about the numbers. And he has shown a weird knack for driving enough sales growth to keep his job, whether it was capturing the government contract in Season 2 ("I want my babybackbabybackbabyback), getting the deal with that company at the convention in Season 3, or the Golden Ticket episode last week. Plus, he saved the company a ton of money by siding with them instead of Jan on the lawsuit thing in Season 4. He does just enough of these types of things to keep his job. And that's the point of the show. Make him this creepy, racist, insensitive jerk but also make him someone who truly cares about his employees and who has his "heart in the right place," so to speak. I think that's what's appealing about the show, too- you know, sometimes, you just wish you could do things with your company like a Booze Cruise, a Day at the Beach, Moroccan Christmas, Run for Rabies, etc. It's almost like reverting back to childhood or adolescence where you'd do these crazy things just for a goof, things that are taboo in the workplace with the exception of the proverbial Christmas party or corporate get-together. Or, simply put, it's just funny-except for certain cringe-worthy moments where it seems that all the show's producers are trying to do is offend and get a rise out of you. (that's what she said)
Terrible episode tonight. Too serious. Stringer Bell just brings it out I guess. As for String getting into the paper business, he did have a photocopy shop in season 3 of The Wire.
lmao where did stringer bell come from? i liked this episode. if Snoop from the Wire appears as a cast member, this officially will be the greatest show ever.
He has already explained why his branch outsells the others ... he buys the paper himself to pad his numbers. It was a pretty dull episode, which is ok. I don't like how they brought Jim down to Micheal and Dwight level, making him look like a clown.
Is there a place I can watch or download all of Season 5? I wasn't caught up when the season started, so I've been avoiding it. Now that my gf and I have watched all the way through Season 4, we're ready for 5. I hear it'll be September before it's offered through Netflix (instead of updating episode by episode like Heroes). We can't wait that long and everything I find online is shady looking
