a very strong episode to follow up the one hour super bowl sunday episode. they've kicked off this half with a bang
SOLID episode. Glad to see they are back to making funny episodes. I might get flamed for this, but 30 Rock is dominating. I mean The Office is excellent but has been inconsistent, but 30 Rock has been bringing it every week. I never thought I would come to like Alec Baldwin, but this show proved otherwise
I cracked my butt off when andy snapped back at stanley with the class "are YOU out of your damn mind"
The showering of candy bars was the highlight. Also, we know he's a burnout hippie, but does this mean Creed was in the Family? When did they hook up? After Manson was jailed (if he was out of commission, that would be why Squeaky would need someone to show her who's in charge), but before the assassination attempt? In future episodes, I request additional Squeaky Fromme shout-outs.
K is for Karen. why'd you leave "Mexican" out? Isn't there a factor involved in this? 30 Rock has to have GUEST Appearances by superstars in order to "bring it", while The Office does the better acting and overall show with the same actors, but different and WEIRD situations? Team The Office here
Michael: "Is there a term besides Mexican that you prefer? Something less offensive..." Oscar: "Mexican isn't offensive" Michael: "Well, under certain connotations"
Last nights episode was great, i was in tears when Creed had a readily available $3 for Jim. 30 Rock was great too, season 1 was on icontrol a couple weeks back and i watched it one day and cant get enough.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a die hard Office fan, I've been watching since Season 1, episode 1. However, I disagree with your characterization of 30 Rock. To be honest, the guest appearances really add nothing to the show. I mean sure, Selma Hayek is nice, but overall, she really doesn't 'make it better.' Also, they have been pretty heavy on the guest appearances as of late, but some of the best episodes had no guest appearances. The main reasons I watch: Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan, Jack McBrayer. To be honest, at times its like their not even acting, they seem to be just they way they are in real life, especially Tracy haha. The Office seems like it could just be more realistic because of the premise- "different and WEIRD situations" in a very familiar setting, an office. 30 Rock take place in a setting that most can never directly relate to, show business. Again, both shows were awesome last night. Lets hope The Office can keep the ball rolling. I think the best scene was when Andy yelled back at Stanley, and Stanley had a look on his face that I had never seen before haha no one ever expected someone to talk back to Stanley, but I guess the Nard-dog was up to the task.
I'm a huge Office fan as well, but 30 Rock has been cracking it out of the park this season. GENERALISSIMO!
nbc has thursday night 9-10 locked up again the office and 30 rock are easily my two favorite comedies on right now. "i dont know why i am putting fire so close to my mouth"
The Office is a bit better, IMO, because it combines the comedy with some serious moments (and the scripts are just hilarious). 30 Rock has the best actor, though- Alec Baldwin does some of the best TV acting I've ever seen- anyone remember an episode he did when Tracy Morgan's character was in counseling and Baldwin was role-playing his dad, mom, etc.? He was brilliant in that- also the Generalissimo last night- he just steals the show. Tracey Morgan is hysterical, too. But The Office is a more subtle thing- you may not catch all of it the first time, but you can watch it several times and get something different each time. Creed, in particular- I can't stop laughing about the $3 bill- and the fact he had it ready in his wallet. Those 2 shows blow away everything, you're right.
I've watched the first two episodes of 30 rock and so far I have hated it..I watched them about two weeks ago and I just can't get myself into the show......How many more episodes before the show gets good?
Gee man, you can't reach a verdict on a show having only watched two episodes. Things take time to get their legs. Imagine if we'd judged Seinfeld by the first two episodes; it would have been gone way before it hit its stride.
