Really? I thought it was more like an internet discussion on hawt chicks. That subplot was the exact embodiment of any number of "hot or not" threads that we've had on this very board. Maybe not laugh-out-loud funny but very observant on human behavior. Plus the whole thing acted as a elongated setup for the tag at the end, which ended up working for me.
I think it would have been a better ending if they had Dwight come in at the last scene and say Hillary Swank wasn't hot to even the score. Are there any online streams of the most recent ep without downloading?
You know, I really like 30Rock- reminds me a lot of Scrubs, another show I like. But there's just something about The Office that makes you really care about the characters on the show. The humor doesn't always grab you right away like those other shows, but you can watch The Office episodes over and over, unlike those others (IMHO). I just feel like The Office exists on another plane.
i hope this ep of the office ends up being one i like on a rewatch or 2.. but on first viewing (very late at night, which has skewed me before).. it was one of the worst/most boring eps they've ever had..
30 Rock was hilarious last night. It's almost like that Office episode was just a filler or something. It was boring all the way through. Lucky for them, 30 Rock came to the rescue.
i was expecting that for the ending. i wouldn't be surprised if they filmed a take. i thought the michael/dwight storyline was predictable....until the very end. i thought this was sort of out-of-character for michael. the hilary swank storyline was total believable for this office. they had to find something to keep them busy while michael and dwight was out.
Hulu, people, Hulu. <object width="512" height="296"><param name="movie" value="http://www.hulu.com/embed/wzDysBEpqhuDTLrYImAycg"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.hulu.com/embed/wzDysBEpqhuDTLrYImAycg" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" width="512" height="296"></embed></object>
i haven't watched the show very much but it's certainly the least amusing one that i've ever seen. Hope it's just a blip and not the beginnings of a drought.
I hoped for something exciting, not due it's The Office, but the next episode is on Super Bowl Sunday. IIRC isn't there suppose to be a spin-off that's going to debut on Super Bowl Sunday?
