I thought it was a pretty decent episode. I didn't care for the pizza boy subplot, and jim and pam on the roof was unbearable, but there was so much good stuff in this ep. Angela was absolutely on fire, and has been so the entire season so far. I loved her and Phyllis going at each other. The cold open with them waiting for the icon to hit the corner was absolute genius. That's exactly the kind of goofy obsessions that everyone gets now and then. The Kelly/Darryl/Dwight scene was very well done and Andy's acapella serenade was a series highlight. There was a few uneven patches, just like every other hour long episode so far, but IMO they were far outweighed by all the positives.
Oh man you are going to love that show, I've seen ever episode a ton of times and the writing is so great that it still cracks me up, you've got some good TV watching ahead of you! Really enjoyed last nites episode even though the pizza boy thing was kind of lame. For those that missed last scene before the credits, it was just Ryan checking himself out in the webcam, nothing major. The Andy, Dwight Angela love triangle looks to be some serious fun going forward, esp. now that Andy has chipped away at her ice cold persona
Worst episode of the three IMO. Some funny parts, but not as many LOL moments as in the first & second.
That episode was just depressing. There were some funny parts, but the rest was sad. These one hour shows are getting tougher. I'm just waiting for Scrubs to come back now.
I think it's the funniest one so far BUT, once again, Steve Carrell and/or the writers managed to pull down another would-be great episode with more over-the-top antics by Michael. The ensemble cast really did a great job in this episode and it looked like everyone got their fair share of time but like the other episodes, Carrell's character just butchers everything (kidnapping the pizza boy? ). I've watched this show since the beginning and I know Michael is the central character, but this season seems like he dragging the whole show down.
I completely agree. He can be good with a minute or two segment, but he is a total drag. The inner office romances will kill this show. More Jan, less michael. And where was Toby? He could have really made the whole kidnapping plot much more interesting.
You guys seem to be the only ones who hated it. Everyone I've talked to, including myself, thought this episode was the best of the three so far this season. What exactly are you guys looking for? Why are the Jim and Pam moments "unbearable?" They lasted for maybe a minute tops. Is that really too much? I loved the entire episode from beginning to end. Is there something I'm missing? It seems like now that the show is becoming more and more popular it's automatically a declining show in some people's eyes.
This always happens. Sometimes I don't like the Jim/Pam but this last episode it didn't bother me the least bit. Plus they're due to break up soon anyways. Andy was hilarious this episode. I loved the epsiode, it was ten fold better then the premier.
Well I specifically called the rooftop conversation unbearable. It was about a minute, but it was a horrifically cute, and saccharine minute. I don't hate them as a couple, but that particular scene was very forced IMO. The earlier scene where Pam (posing as the website) IM'd Dwight acknowledging his superiority, was a thousand times more more poignant and honest. A little sentiment goes a long way.
Someone should do a ytmnd of Andy dancing with the bullhorn and Angela getting pissed. That had me rolling.
I agree that the over the top moments are a disappointment. I still loved the show and have loved them all. They are hilarious. But driving into a lake last week, and the pizza boy thing this week are too over the top. I think most people if they talked about their favorite Michael moments they would be ones not so over the top, that just has him dealing in his own faux pas filled way with office personnel, and putting his foot in his mouth etc. That is when it's the funniest. It doesn't have to be a wacky, zany, over the top situation. He's funny enough dealing with regular people. That being said, there was so much enjoyable about the episode that I still thought it was one of the best. The ensemble cast is amazing. The little reactions from each of them is absolutely amazing and adds tons of hilarity that driving a car into a lake because of technology or kidnapping a pizza boy just can't match.
just watched the new one this evening. thought it had some hilarious parts the show's still got it, though I preferred Jim and Pam not dating (their interactions were funnier then)
You people are forgetting that in order for the show to have any staying power it has to appeal to a WIDE variety of audiences. For example, my wife loves to watch to find out what happens every week between Jim and Pam. However, I'm too busy laughing my a$$ off at the rest of the cast and don't really care about Jim and Pam. Don't get me wrong...Jim's sarcasm is funny and Pam is just, well, she's hot. I don't mind the writers selling out a little bit so that the show has more longevity.
What, no one mentioned Darrell flirting a little with Kelly??? Now THAT has some potential!! I don't think he knows what he's in for. I'd rate this one second best of the season, behind the first episode. I dvr'd it so I went past the rooftop scene.
