This is going to cripple people in less fortunate situations and you will remain unaffected so you dont have to care, why are you acting like Trudeau is at fault?
Where did I say I am ok with it? I think Trudeau brought that upon them. Instead of trying to work on a mutually agreeable solution, he tries to pick a fight he should know his side will inevitably lose. He is harming the Canadian people because of his ego, instead of putting his ego aside and trying to do what's best for his people. But what is the criteria that Canada has to meet to get the tariffs removed?! Trump has said there's nothing Canada can do. Less than 1% of the fentanyl in the US comes from Canada. Less than 1% of the illegal immigrants in the US are from Canada. Trudeau has already invested billions of dollars in border security, yet for some reason it's still not enough for Trump. I ask again, what's the point!
I believe Trump is trying to accelerate the inevitable regime change in Canada. Trudeau is trying to play tricks to hold on to power longer, when the vast majority of Canadians basically hate him at this point. Justin Trudeau announced his intention to resign as the Prime Minister of Canada and as the leader of the Liberal Party, with his resignation to take effect once a new party leader is chosen. This announcement was made on January 6, 2025. Parliament has been prorogued until March 24, 2025, during which time a new Liberal leader will be selected. Therefore, Trudeau will remain in office until that new leader is in place. A federal election is expected to be held by the end of October 2025, but could occur sooner if a no-confidence vote leads to the dissolution of Parliament before then. Once Trudeau is out, this can be resolved.
Unfortunately, people in the US are already feeling the pain of some of Trump's recent actions. People are losing their jobs, people are stressed because they have a freezing hire and are already understaffed, people are worried about losing their healthcare, and people are confused by so much misinformation coming out of Trump's mouth.
