I guess our chemistry is setup for ultimate failure. Acording to ur definition half the league has chemistry since half make the playoffs. Don't get me wrong. I think us taking the Fakers to 7 games was great. I think it had a lot to do with heart, luck and the Fakers not taking us seriously. IMO it had nothing to do with chemistry.
We have size on this team. Just not at center when Yao is out. When Yao is back, all of that will gradually even out. If Yao would not have gotten hurt, we would have been the repeating champs today. I get so upset when people who sat through a whole Yaoless season can't appreciate what the team went through. Size or no size, this team answered alot of questions with their performance last season. They proved they could be a winning team without Yao( 42-40 is a winning record). Also, they proved with Yao they are one of the most dangerous teams in the league. You should all appreciate what we have.
Chris Bosh is the flavor of the moment. I know it is boring sportswise this time of the year, especially with the Astros playing so poorly. But that is not reason for everyone to lose their composure. No doubt Chris Bosh is a good player, but there is no real reason to think that he will be as good as his salary requires him to be. A "top five" in the NBA superstar? This sort of specualtion is pipe-dream. If the Rockets trade for Chris Bosh, there are very likely going to be a lot of disappointed people around here. To the extent that Bosh is actually better than Louis Scola, it does not appear to be by very much at all. Let's keep Scola and keep a close eye on Hill and Patterson. The Rockets are loaded at power forward. I think this trade would be a big mistake. The upside is that it is probably not going to happen anyway. Note to Darryl Morey: Sign Brad Miller and let's move on.
haha i love the waterboy but to your cool video point Pau is talented but he cant play defense 40 yr. old KG with bad knees proved that Lamar plays when he wants to as opposed to Scola who has heart and plays 110% all the time because he knows he doesnt have a Kobe who can lead them to a comeback...oh and here is a video you might enjoy: <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/mEo6mc4fwL0&hl=en_US&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/mEo6mc4fwL0&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
I appreciate Championships and Championship runs. Mediocre runs and barely losing to the eventual champs dont register on my list as accomplishments. I am not content like some Rockets fans who have become complacent about winning. We need upgrades? I want upgrades. I want the best possible chance to win. if we dont get them? I move on and look for the next one like Carmello Anthony next or Chris Paul when they become available. Again then? Some of you will be against chamge and upgrades. Against allstars in favor our beloved role players. When wont some of you be? Its always that way. Too much fandom for our current players and a 42-40 record. Says nothing to me though. Absolutely nothing.
Believe me I am far from "blind"... and I totally agree that our depth is excellent. But here's my point... Explain to me how all this talent is useful if they don't get playing time? Brooks/Lowry Martin/Taylor Ariza/Battier/Bud Scola/Hill/Patterson Yao/Hayes/FA Thats 13 players right there that "should" see playing time right? But no team uses a 13 man rotation...would it not be better to combine the lesser assets for a better player? We can ALL agree, money aside, bosh is an upgrade...what we disagree on is how much of an upgrade... I mean from a basketball standpoint, it seems pretty logical to me to take the upgrade at the expense of some of your depth, right? There are only so many minutes in a game, so why not trade a few underutilized talents for one guy who will undoubtedly see LOTS of playing time?
he is but its not an even exchange meaning we are not just giving up Scola...include Ariza and Hill and Battier and picks no deal
great, reliving the past sure does get things done. While we're reliving the past the Lakers have won B2B NBA Championships. So what you're saying is Pau and Odom just don't give 100%? So you're saying they are more talented and you're HOPING they play like **** when we play them? Fact is Gasol/Odom > Scola/Hill/Patterson. It's not close.
BY FAR the best explaination on why Chris Bosh is a positive move but our frontline is going to share the mins no way is Yao playing 35 to 40 mins a game this year...Scola will play center; Hill will play center; DM even said Patterson could play center
Thats if Patterson turns out to be any good and if??? Hill progresses a little from last year to be a better replacement off the bench. If Yao stays healthy all year? If he can be allowed to sit less because they dont need him in the game because he is the only one scoring and winning the game in the post? If Scola isnt being outrebounded again and again like on most nights.
i dont like bosh too. he isnt worth a max contract, and he may break the chem. he said he wanna be the boss but he is not good to be. he can shoot, jump but he is not a fighter. ok, he fight for money. now what rox need most i think is a sf and a back up C. rox need find tough guys
If Adelman even lets Hill become enough of a favorite to finally get minutes? If Adelman likes Patterson enough to allow him to play significant minutes as a rookie? If he even allows Patterson in the game because he is a rookie? If he doesnt favor the smaller Chuck Hayes all year like he does? If Adelman starts thinking taller matchups instead of his going with smaller lineups to score all year like he usualy does?
yeah yeah yeah. sometimes you can win through the draft... you think. all the players that your trying to get are still with the team that DRAFTED them. so if morey thinks the rockets are giving up too much to get bosh then they can take a chance on the knicks picks, jordan hill, patterson, buddinger, brooks, and the rockets own picks to improve the team. the pick for the knicks next year could be top 5 and the rox could get a one and done player from college that could be better then bosh in 2 years add that to the players the rockets have now and your in business.
Yes, and I followed up with another comparison that I feel that doctors and teachers are worth more than NBA players, even though NBA players are paid a crapload more. I was doing the same thing you are doing, making a comparison...but then you start talking about things like morality...which had nothing to do with anything. In the context of the NBA...the top players are absolutely worth the max. Sure, you dont think they are, but you're pretty much the only person on this website that feels the top NBA players arent worth the max. Its your opinion...and its a stupid one.
so you want to wait 2 years to see if we become contenders with "potential top 5 picks" while Yao gets older and slower? sounds like the Grizzlies plan to become champs.
I cant agree more with Reeko here...I just cant believe you guys would pass on the opportunity to sport a lineup that consists of one of the top centers in the league, one of the top power forwards in the league, along with a backcourt of Brooks and Martin. We would be able to compete with any team in the league...ANY team. How often can you say that? You want to sit and stand pat, hoping that a year or two down the line you can get a lineup that can compete with the best. Why not just get that lineup right now and use it when Yao is in his prime?
