Pau and Bynum have done a good job solidifying the Lakers' interior defense.

Yao and Bosh would do a better job.

Yao is not healthy, even DM said it would take him the whole year to get where he was before. Les,knows more about his health than you or I. 25 mins a game is the projection. Bosh wants a 6 yr contract,he needs a healthy Yao to help him out. There is no guarantee that Yao will last for even one year. It's also quite possible that Toronto may not agree to a S/N without Brooks, despite their weak hand.

    Career #'s

    Yao - 19.1 PTS 9.3 REB 1.6 AST .832% FT .525% FG 2.7 TO
    Bosh- 20.2 PTS 9.4 REB 2.2 AST .796% FT .492% FG 2.2 TO

Bosh has missed around 60 career games..Yao around 170?

Most people would agree the only thing holding Yao back from greatness is health...so whats not to like about Bosh? He didn't win with a crappy team in the past? You could make a pretty long list of great players who couldn't win with GOOD teams... Only one team can win and the best one doesn't always do so....team success is hardly the best indicator of individual talent

    My feelings to a T...

Is Bosh a nice player, sure. Does he make some good plays and have some nice highlights, sure.

But honestly before the Bosh might come to Houston idea, I didn't see anyone clamoring to have him on this team, say last year. You know in those who you'd like to have scenarios, or who you'd go after if you had the money talk between friends.

What's the differences between Scola and Bosh stats wise, and then do a comparative on the difference between the money they will be making. Is Bosh really going to show you, or has he shown Max Money play?

I just don't see it, I see a good player, one who has a lot of talent but doesn't always play hard. In Scola I see a hard working player, maybe not as talented, but is getting better each year, for a lot less money.

IMO there are 2 people worth the max, Kobe and Lebron...Not Wade, not Bosh, not Amare...

    DESPERATION is what I see...

I certainly wouldn't mind having Bosh on the team. The 4, though, IMHO, is not our weakest position. I'm happy with Scola/Hill/Leunen there. I think we most need to upgrade our 3 (Melo, Randolph... Chase?) and get a legit backup 5 (BMiller) this summer. Could DM be playing Bosh for a smoke screen-- to pull a reverse Beltran maneuver on the free agent market? Now that would be meaty!

So since Yao isnt at 100% health, we should stop going after talent? I dont understand your point. We still need Bosh, regardless.

Also, Yao has said he is going to be ready to go.

i would take Team Success over Individual Talent anyday...And what Scola Battier Lowry and the rest of these guys have is STRONG Chemistry you can see it you see they love playing with each other (no homo) When they traded Carl it was like they were losing a brother im saying losing one brother is hard but if this deal goes through and they lose Scola Ariza Hill that could mess up the chemistry to a point that they will start losing

I could be wrong but I prefer team chemistry than individual talent

Wow. Wade isn't worth a max contract? That's simply hilarious.

Roy, Durant, Melo, Wade, Dirk, Paul, Amare, Deron Williams, Pierce, Dwight Howard, Bosh are all easily worth max money currently. You can add other up and coming players like Rose to the list.

Only two people in free agency worth a max are Lebron and Wade.

Hence why I said IMO...It's hilarious to you, because you feel they are worth it, I do not...

I also don't feel that the price of cars, TV's, computers, and countless other things are worth what the price tag says...I bet that's hilarious also

First off I said nothing about choosing individual talent over team success, just pointing out that you can't judge ONE players talent based on the fact that his old TEAM was no good...

And the sad but true fact is this team has been playing with amazing chemistry and all that good stuff for a few years now...and what success has it brought us?

I don't really care for Bosh, but we may never get another shot at getting a legit star. You have to make the deal If you can.

I hate making our team better, too, Charles. In fact, like you, I hate any success the Rockets have. I hope we don't land any superstar and continue to remain in obscurity because that's how, like you, I like it.

Thanks for making the OFFICIAL thread, not some wannabe unofficial thread. It would be meaningless if it were unofficial.

No, youre not quite understanding the point.

Nobody here feels that any basketball player should be worth a million dollars when you have teachers and doctors that are not worth that much. This has nothing to do with that.

With your line of thinking, if you were the GM of the Rockets, you would obviously choose to pay your players the league minimum...and you would be a perennial loser.

Riiight. A player like Wade who has carried his team to a championship isn't worth the max, right? All of the players I mentioned with the exception of maybe Amare and Pierce are worth max dollars. Period.

What you're saying might make some sense if you stated that role players are severely overpaid.

    Read CH's thread -- http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=189058

Bosh and these other max-level players are def worth it.

I really don't get it. He just turned 26 and is reaching Duncan-like numbers without the blocks. His defense isn't anywhere near TD's but 1 steal and 1 block isn't too shabby.

How many bigs have the offensive game of Chris Bosh? Maybe Gasol..a healthy Yao but that's about it..

We need a star to replace Yao for sure, but IMO Bosh is not that guy. Just because Yao said I'm ready to go,doesn't mean that he can last or get through the season at a high playing level.

6yrs,125 M. 20M plus and that's not even including LT. I know it's Les' money, but he will need it to pay Brooks and other players in the future,if he stays here.

Everyone is looking to get the max before the new CBA comes in,and puts limits to spending.

Yao's expiring contract won't amount to much, once Bosh gets what he wants. If you think an MLE center plus Bosh etc= Championship, that's fine with me. I admit he can make us better, but not to the extent that you do. That's not good enough for me.
