First, i respect how you ignored all the Bosh lovers and made a thread that makes sense. Also like you, i have stated over and over that we do not need Bosh, another PF. What we need is another center. Why the Rockets organization has not addressed this is silly to me.
I still want him but the fact that he is too much of a wuss to play center is bothersome. You don't hear Scola complaining about where he plays. Just put me on the floor coach !! DD
to be honest im not too excited about acquiring bosh. maybe because id like scola to stay and that wont happen if bosh is here. also i have never been that impressed with him when we play the raptors.
Lol, who do you suggest we get? As far as I know, we are in talks with Miller. Any studs out there that we are overlooking?
Last year, we played against Bosh in only 1 game...he scored 27 with 6 boards, 3 assists, and 2 blocks...and the Raptors won by 13 points. The 2 years previous to that, over 4 games, he averaged over 21 points and over 8.5 boards a game. And if I recall, I was running through his stats for a year prior and he had a 19 rebound game against us as well. He hasnt dominated us, but he has definitely played at a high level.
I wouldnt mind Biedrins, but he's not really much of an upgrade. Also, he's not readily available, as he has 4 years and 36 million left on his current contract. He's not someone the Rockets have overlooked or missed out on. The guy is getting 9 million a year and he averaged 5 points and 8 boards a game over the 33 games he played all year.
Another thing to wonder. Did our power forwards have to deal with a top 5 team defense, including a 7-6 center and a ex-DPOY to back him up? Or were they playing against an interior defense anchored by some soft Euro stiff?
Scola had 21 and 15 last year...but Im pretty sure it was Hayes that was up against Bosh. (And Hayes went for 2 points and 7 boards) The year before that, Yao was healthy... Scola had 8 points and 13 boards in one game...along with Yao's 14 points and 8 boards. Im thinking that Scola was guarding Bargnani while Yao and Bosh went head to head. In the other game that year, Scola went 20/16, Yao went 20/11...while Bosh and Bargnani went 25/7 each. As far as I remember, Bosh and Yao would be matched up...while Scola could handle the more perimeter duties against Bargnani.
Deke, man, I would love to have another Deke on this team...was really hoping for Camby....but alas....we are stuck now without many true backup center options.... DD
In combined height, yes, if Landry gets on Scola's shoulders, then theyll have a higher reach than Bosh.
I don't want Bosh. I enjoy seeing the younger players come into there own ( Hill and now 2pat ) & there is nothing worng with Scola other than he needs to be paid. A team can not have a MAX player at ever spot.
Cool little read, the Nets Russian owner says he had no doubt Wade and Bosh will play together in Miami. Doesn't mean he is gonna be right but its interesting to get his thoughts since he sat down with both. http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nba/news/story?id=5357254
