You're using those FEW supporters, if that, to justify that the whole of Obama's supporters are hyporcritical is like me using you and B.T. to justify that Republican supporters are racially insentive bigots. Come on Maaan get ryte.

Oh and if you're going to retort that you didnt mean all supporters you need to specify that with a "some of Obama's supporters"

Obama has done enough on himself to have his interests and background questioned...still its unfortunate to endure that kind of treatment. I feel bad not so much for Obama but the young campaign workers themselves.

Thought this was gonna be about dirty damaging scandulous secrets of the Obama campaign that they dont want let out. The sympathy angle was unexpected.

If anyone didn't think this was happening, frequently in comparison to political campaigns of the past several years, was completely kidding himself.

Obama is taking the high road by not making an issue out of it.

Does that include Obama campaign officials?

Then you must admire that Obama refuses to portray himself as a victim, and consciously shuns any media portrayal that could go there.

race is such a huge issue - imagine how easily obama would sweep into office if he was white instead of viewed as being a black man?

That racism still has such strong roots in America isn't a surprise to be sure, but does anyone in the media have the guts to say racism runs rampant in places like rural Pennsylvania now?

Well, according to the campaign workers, "the experience of most volunteers and staffers has been overwhelmingly positive."

"Isolated incidents" does not equal "frequent" in my book.

Why was this article even written? To prove that there are isolated cases of people being racist in in rural parts of the country? Wow. Shocking revelation there.

Right, just like John Edwards. OOPS

You need to understand that it is highly offensive to non-blacks for you to say stuff like what is quoted above. It's just so invalid and unsubstantiated.

You need to understand it is highly offensive to blacks for you to suggest that Obama is only where he is because of his skin color. It's just so invalid and unsubstantiated

By the way, there's a lot of evidence here in this thread and in the exit polls that Obama's race hurts him far more then it helps him.

So why didn't John Edwards win, if all you need to be is white to win?

That invalidates your entire premise. oopsie!

There is no possible way to measure this.

What do we know? We know that white democrats have failed before on messages of hope and change. We know that Obama is trouncing Hillary in large part because he is getting 90+% of the black vote where his numbers with white voters are much more split.

I think it's ridiculous to say if he was white he'd be a shoe in. Part of his attractiveness, even to white voters, is that he is black. Not only does he talk about change, but the fact that he is different than every single president in history represents a tangible change for many people.

Not to say he wouldn't win. He very well could. My point is only that it's impossible to know.
