He did when he was in CBA. But probably his size is not good enough in NBA to have an inside game.

Also, Yi is a PF not a C like Wang Zhizhi or Yao Ming, so it is natural that he likes Dirk or Duncan.

 

His size is good enough to bang, but I think he just a perimeter player.
